Apple

As usual, the upcoming offspring of Cupertinians cannot do without a lot of rumors and “hype” around. That's the topic of possible smart-watches from Apple is quite resonant. The Internet is already full of images of the upcoming iWatch model. And this despite the fact that no official data about the design from the camp of the "Yabloko" has not yet been reported. In March 2013, the company confirmed that more than a hundred full-time engineers are working on the development of the prototype. It is expected that the watch will be able to make and receive incoming calls, determine location, and measure heart rate. It is rumored that Apple's smartwatch should be released in 2014. However, the company did not announce the exact date.

Blackberry

It is unclear why the Canadian company decided to outsource the development of its own smart watches. Apparently, considering that the Allerta engineers have great potential in this area. The released product was called InPulse and after its presentation ingloriously sunk into oblivion, leaving behind nothing but a hole in the BlackBerry budget.

Allerta

However, the experience with InPulse helped Allerta launch one of the most successful startups on Kickstarter, the Pebble smartwatch. They are also the cheapest at the same time - only 99 dollars apiece. They are equipped with a 1.26-inch monochrome electronic paper display, a Bluetooth 2.1 interface, four buttons and an acceleration sensor. Pebble is a feature-rich headset for Android devices. Through the "blue tooth" they are able to receive calls, messages, download a graphical interface. It is clear that Pebble will reveal its full functionality along with applications coming out for them. Today, four colors of watches are available: black, red and white. Later, the fourth option will be released, which will be determined by the vote of people who supported the project on Kickstarter.

Foxconn

In mid-summer 2013, a Taiwanese gadget maker unveiled a prototype of its iPhone headset. With their help, you can answer calls, receive messages on Facebook, measure your heart rate and much more. It is possible that in the near future, watches from Foxconn will be able to recognize the owner by fingerprint. The company did not report plans for mass production.

Despite the fact that the segment of smart watches is just beginning to develop, the potential, as they say, is there. Who knows, maybe in the near future we will be able to leave our smartphone at home, controlling it only with the help of a convenient bracelet.
