Carier start

Kevin Grossscroitz was born in the German city of Dortmund in 1988. At the age of four, he began to play football at the academy of the local Rot-Weiss club. At the age of seven, he ended up in another academy owned by the Kemminghausen club. There he spent four years, after which he again changed his place of study - now he began to play football with the Merkur 07 club, but everyone knew that from early childhood, Kevin was a fan of the Dortmund Borussia, the largest club in his hometown and one of the strongest in Germany. It was love for life, and at the age of 14 the boy’s dream came true - he ended up at the Borussia Academy, where, however, he did not stay long. They didn’t see much talent in him, so at the age of 15 in 2003, Kevin Grosskreuz moved to the Rot-Weiss club academy, however, if in childhood, his team belonged to the city of Obereving, then now to Alain. It was there that the young player began his professional career when, in 2006, management offered him a professional contract.

Kevin Grosskreuz, whose biography is set out in the article, immediately made his way to the base of the club, which at that time played in the Regional League. In his first professional season, he spent 27 matches, scoring six goals. Kevin began as a right-wing winger, but already at Roth-Weiss he was periodically put in other positions. So, he managed to play on the left in the attack, and become a drawn forward, and descend into the midfield to the position of playmaker. In his second season, Grosskreuz already played a maximum of matches - 36, scoring 12 goals. Thanks to his efforts, as well as the efforts of his teammates, the club managed to break out of the lower division, and in 2008 he ended up in the second Bundesliga. There Grosskreuz Kevin continued to demonstrate excellent football qualities and his versatility, due to which he was noticed by the same Dortmund Borussia, which abandoned it seven years ago.

Transition to Borussia

What fate awaited in “Borussia” such a football player as Kevin Grossskroits? Biography, rating, player statistics - this is all that fans are interested in, and you can find all this in this material.

So, the year 2009 was decisive for the 21-year-old Kevin, whose contract with Roth-Weiss came to an end, and he, as a free agent, transferred to the club of his dreams. There he first replaced the Paraguayan Nelson Valdes, until he drove him out of the main squad. Since December 2009, Grosskreuz began to receive stable gaming practice and became one of the key performers in the team. This was reflected in the statistics: in the first season, the football player spent 33 matches, scoring five goals.

In the second season, the left flank remained completely with Grosskreuz, he took part in all 34 matches of the Bundesliga, only two times coming on as a substitute. In addition, he was the main one at the matches of the German Cup, as well as at the games of the prestigious international tournament - the Europa League. It was in that season that the Dortmund Borussia managed to win the Bundesliga, which had not happened for a very long time.

The third season was no less successful for Kevin than the previous one: he played 43 matches again, like last year, but this time he scored not 9, but 8 goals. Moreover, Borussia won the Bundesliga again and also added the German Cup. But since 2012, things have not gone so well both with Borussia and Grosskreuz himself.

The club acquired Marco Royce, an incredibly talented left winger, who immediately left Kevin on the bench. It was from this season that Grosskreuz began work in all positions: he played both the right winger and the central midfielder, and also spent several matches in the positions of the right and left defender. As a result, he played 44 matches and scored 2 goals. It became clear that he, as a left winger, had no future in Borussia, but Kevin did not want to give up, he wanted to fight for his future in a dream club. Therefore, in the next season he took the position of the right defender without any problems and claims, and when Royce was injured, he returned to the left flank of the attack. Then he played the most matches for the season - as many as 50, scoring three goals. It would seem that Grosskreuz is unique, and he will play in Borussia at all costs.

But the tale ended with the departure of head coach Jurgen Klopp. In his place came Thomas Tuchel, who Grossskreuz absolutely did not need. As a result, Kevin was on the bench, he only periodically went on the field, and in the second half of the season a sudden injury buried all hopes. When Grosskreuz recovered, he was politely pointed out. He wanted to fight, but he was left with no choice, and fans will definitely not forgive the club management for that. Kevin Grossscroitz is a midfielder, defender, striker who will forever remain in the hearts of fans of the Dortmund Borussia. But in the summer of 2015, he had to leave his favorite club and join Galatasaray, which paid him a half million euros.

Problems with Galatasaray

The German footballer Kevin Grossskroits could start a new life in a Turkish club, if not for a ridiculous accident. The fact is that the player’s transfer was made on the last day of the transfer window. And, as it turned out later, the new club could not meet the deadline and submit the necessary documentation. As a result, Kevin was in a difficult situation: he could not leave the club, but could not play for him until a new transfer window opened, that is, until January 1, 2016. Naturally, this situation did not suit him, and in early January of the following year, as soon as he had the opportunity, Grosskreuz returned to Germany. But, unfortunately, not to my beloved Dortmund Borussia, but to Stuttgart, which agreed to compensate Galatasaray for one and a half million euros and seven hundred thousand in addition.

By the beginning of July, he recovered from his injury, played another match in the Bundesliga and returned to the infirmary with a relapse. A new season has already begun, Stuttgart has flown to the second Bundesliga, where it will fight to return to the first, and Kevin is recovering from an injury and will soon have to join his partners.

Kevin went to the 2014 World Cup with his team, but did not spend a minute on the field.

Personal life

Not so much is known about Kevin’s personal life. He has a brother Marcel, who still stands for the double of the Dortmund Borussia. And also, as mentioned above, Grosskreuz is a big fan of the Dortmund club, he has been a fan of black and yellow since childhood and continues to do so now.
