Kevin Grossscroitz was born in the German city of Dortmund in 1988. At the age of four, he began to play football at the academy of the local Rot-Weiss club. At the age of seven, he ended up in another academy owned by the Kemminghausen club. There he spent four years, after which he again changed his place of study - now he began to play football with the Merkur 07 club, but everyone knew that from early childhood, Kevin was a fan of the Dortmund Borussia, the largest club in his hometown and one of the strongest in Germany. It was love for life, and at the age of 14 the boy’s dream came true - he ended up at the Borussia Academy, where, however, he did not stay long. They didn’t see much talent in him, so at the age of 15 in 2003, Kevin Grosskreuz moved to the Rot-Weiss club academy, however, if in childhood, his team belonged to the city of Obereving, then now to Alain. It was there that the young player began his professional career when, in 2006, management offered him a professional contract.
The first years in professional football
Kevin Grosskreuz, whose biography is set out in the article, immediately made his way to the base of the club, which at that time played in the Regional League. In his first professional season, he spent 27 matches, scoring six goals. Kevin began as a right-wing winger, but already at Roth-Weiss he was periodically put in other positions. So, the year 2009 was decisive for the 21-year-old Kevin, whose contract with Roth-Weiss came to an end, and he, as a free agent, transferred to the club of his dreams. There he first replaced the Paraguayan Nelson Valdes, until he drove him out of the main squad. Since December 2009, Grosskreuz began to receive stable gaming practice and became one of the key performers in the team. This was reflected in the statistics: in the first season, the football player spent 33 matches, scoring five goals.
In the second season, the left flank remained completely with Grosskreuz, he took part in all 34 matches of the Bundesliga, only two times coming on as a substitute. It became clear that he, as a left winger, had no future in Borussia, but Kevin did not want to give up, he wanted to fight for his future in a dream club. But the tale ended with the departure of head coach Jurgen Klopp. In his place came Thomas Tuchel, who Grossskreuz absolutely did not need. As a result, Kevin was on the bench, he only periodically went on the field, and in the second half of the season a sudden injury buried all hopes. When Grosskreuz recovered, he was politely pointed out. He wanted to fight, but he was left with no choice, and fans will definitely not forgive the club management for that. A new beginning at Stuttgart
In Stuttgart, Grosskreuz immediately got into the base, he began to play in the position of right-back. Everything went perfectly, he played nine matches in the Bundesliga and even one match against his former club in the German Cup, but already in March he was injured and missed an impressive amount of playing time. By the beginning of July, he recovered from his injury, played another match in the Bundesliga and returned to the infirmary with a relapse. A new season has already begun, Stuttgart has flown to the second Bundesliga, where it will fight to return to the first, and Kevin is recovering from an injury and will soon have to join his partners.
Germany national team
For the national team, Grosskreuz made his debut in May 2010 in a friendly match against Malta, in which he played 33 minutes as a playmaker. After that, he spent five more friendly matches, the last of which was in September 2014 with Argentina, in which the Germans lost with a score of 2: 4.
