Since the 2004 season, Tomasz has gradually become involved in games for the main team. Basically, they were substitutions at the end of the match, when it was difficult to manage to show your best playing qualities. And then the club management decided that in order to acquire full-fledged playing practice, a football player needs to be rented out for a while to a club where he will be a player of the starting lineup.
Such a team was found. She turned out to be a club from the city of Zlato Moravec “ViOn”. Here Tomash Gubochan polished his football skills for five months. The time spent in the lease rendered the player an invaluable service. Returning to ilina, he quickly established himself as the main and irreplaceable footballer of the team, one of the best defense players of Slovak football. The 2006/2007 season was also marked by the first club trophy won in the form of gold medals of the national championship.
There is nothing surprising in the fact that representatives of the leading teams of European championships became interested in a promising player. The most real offers to the player came from the clubs “Nuremberg”, “Bochum”, “Zenith”. The arguments of the Russian team ($ 4 million) were more convincing. Since 2008, Tomasz Gubochan became a player of the Zenit club. In this team, he played 6 seasons, held 113 fights at a very different level.
And if at first the head coach of the St. Petersburg club Dick Advocaat did not consider Tomas as the main player in defense, then with the arrival of Luciano Spaletti the situation changed dramatically. As soon as the championship of Russia 2015/2016 began, our hero was in the midst of a scandal. The incident happened in the fourth minute of the match of the first round between the teams “Zenith” and “Dynamo”. Players of the opposing teams Xavi Garcia and Tomasz Gubochan tried to be the first to get to the ball, served in the penalty area after the corner. As a result of the fight, the Zenit midfielder hit the Slovak in the face with his fist, and he fell. The repetition clearly showed that the St. Petersburg club footballer committed this act intentionally.
The episode with Xavi Garcia and Tomas Gubochan was considered at a meeting of the RFU control and disciplinary committee in the presence of both the players themselves and representatives of their clubs. However, Javi Garcia ignored the event. He explained his deed in writing. During the meeting, representatives of Zenit organized a telephone connection with the offender, during which he apologized to the victim. As a result of the decision of the FTC, the penalty for the Zenit player is 1 match of disqualification.
