The rabbit farm at the stage of expansion and development necessarily solves the problems of creating new places for keeping animals. An important issue is the reproduction of rabbits. It is this indicator that contributes to an increase in their livestock and allows counting on obtaining stable income from the sale of products.
To date, several promising methods of keeping rabbits have been proposed. The Research Institute of Fur Breeding and Rabbit Breeding (NIIPZK, Moscow) has developed technologies for
keeping rabbits. One of them is keeping animals in specialized enclosed spaces and open mesh cages. Inside the rabbit farm, a constant temperature is maintained throughout the year, water is supplied for drinking and feed is regularly distributed. Fans create comfortable conditions. The supply of fresh air, heated in winter or cooled in summer in combined installations, is carried out according to the program on the control panel. For each rabbit, a special
register is made where regular records are made about the state of the animal, its productivity over a certain period, the increase in live weight and other indicators. Data is transferred to the database on the rabbit farm server. This technology is used on large farms. It works quite efficiently and brings a stable income.
The technology of external maintenance according to the recommendations of NIIPZK involves the use of several types of cells: for females, for young animals, for male producers. They are made in standard sizes. Cages for females have a special device. They have aft and nesting compartments. Their sizes are such that they guarantee the planned reproduction of rabbits, about 8-10 rabbits in a broom. As with previous technology, work with animals is controlled by programs with regularly updated databases. In a number of regions of Russia, NIIPZK technologies found followers and were introduced into production.
At the end of the eighties of the past century, I.N. Mikhailov (St. Petersburg) developed a technology for accelerating the maintenance of rabbits. It allows you to keep animals outdoors, guarantees stable breeding of rabbits throughout the year. The author has developed a method that has been tested over several decades of successful work. Its essence lies in the fact that all technological methods of keeping animals are aimed at meeting their needs. In fact, "human" conditions of detention are created for rabbits. In the latest MINiferm models, namely the so-called special cages developed by I.N. Mikhailov, there are even baths in which rabbits take a bath on a hot summer day!
Production experiments are constantly carried out on the rabbit farm of the author of the accelerating rabbit breeding FIAKRO over different animal breeds. The most promising breeds for large farms and rabbit farms for personal plots were identified. These include: silver, white giant rabbit, Soviet chinchilla, butterfly and black-brown. These breeds allow you to grow commodity rabbits with a live weight of more than 4 kg in four months. At the same time, high quality skins are guaranteed, which differs sharply from rabbit skins grown using other technologies. The author called this type of mikraksel skins ("Mikhailovsky Accelerate Rabbit"). In terms of wear resistance, micraxel skins are superior even to otter fur, the most wear-resistant. The density reaches 11 thousand hair per square centimeter, which is higher than that of ermine or sable fur. Today, micraxel almost does not appear on the domestic market, it is bought by Italians and French - the best manufacturers of fur products in the world.
The expanded reproduction of rabbits in MINIFERMs occurs exponentially, which allows up to 32 new productive rabbits with offspring from one rabbit-accelerating rabbit within one year (here I.N.Mikhailov means that during the year daughters and granddaughters enter rabbits). A farm can grow 32 times in one year! No other technology guarantees such growth of the rabbit farm.
Currently, this technique has already found thousands of followers in Russia and other countries. The author shares his developments, which are regularly updated with new design and technological solutions. For rabbit farms of different stocks, a business plan is proposed.
Breeding rabbits implies its competent compilation. The business plan has a costly part, taking into account the dynamics of changes in the prices of feed, building materials. The wages of production workers are also taken into account. The profitability of the rabbit farm is calculated at the minimum profitability (real profitability is much higher). Even the calculation of the minimum profit shows that accelerating rabbit breeding has the highest profitability in agricultural production, and taking into account fourfold annual rotation (four times per year for each rabbit), production efficiency is at the level of the most
profitable production in the world.
Another important feature of the technology of accelerated rabbit breeding is an indicator of the safety of fixed assets over a long period. MINIFERMS, built about forty years ago, are still operating, great-great-grandfathers live in them ... great-granddaughters of the first accelerator females. The design features of MINiferm allow them to maintain their original appearance and performance. It is unlikely that there will still be similar equipment that can operate for such a long time without major repairs and restoration.
Successful development of rabbit farms is possible! This is proved by the practice of using accelerated rabbit technology in our country.
