How to do spelling?

The word "spelling" came to us from the Greek language. Orthos means "correct," and grapho means "write." Therefore, when we do spelling analysis of a word, we simply learn to correctly transmit speech in writing. Simply put, spelling words correctly. In this article, you will learn how to do spelling, what spelling rules exist, and also get some tips to help you make fewer mistakes when writing.

Spelling
In school textbooks on the Russian language, spelling analysis is usually indicated by the number 6. To make the analysis itself, you first need to determine the spelling that you will check. Most often, people make a spelling mistake when the letter spelling of a word does not coincide with the sound composition. For example, "floor", "clock", "phone", "notebook", "compote", "pencil case" and so on. But the abundance of such examples does not mean that you have to memorize all such words. In fact, you just need to choose the right rule with which you can check the spelling.

The scheme of any spelling rule is based on two main components: on the composition of the word and part of speech. To parse a word by its composition, it is necessary to note morphemes (to make a morphemic analysis), and to determine a part of speech, it is enough to understand what the desired word indicates. The noun will indicate the subject, the verb - the action of the subject, the adjective - the property of the subject, the numeral - the number of items and so on.

Spelling
All spelling rules can be divided into several specific groups according to the type of morphemes, namely:

  1. Spelling based on the morpheme principle (morpheme in the prefix, root, suffix or ending).
  2. Consolidated or hyphenated spelling.
  3. Separator "b" and "b".

Having determined the type of spelling, you can proceed to the analysis itself. Do spelling analysis according to this scheme:

  1. Write a word for spelling.
  2. Insert the missing spelling.
  3. Underline the spelling.
  4. Explain your choice and prove the spelling.
  5. Write a test word or words with similar spelling.

For clarity, we will give an example - we will do spelling analysis of the word “mowed” from the sentence: “Grandfather collects mowing ... (n / nn) grass.”

  1. Skosh ... (n / nn) uy.
  2. Beveled.
  3. Slanted.
    Spelling
  4. The orthogram in the word "beveled" is the spelling of the participle suffix. Since the passive participle of the past tense is formed from the perfect form of the verb, formed from the verb -it, the suffix "enn" is present in it.
  5. Words with similar spelling: well-read, colored.

This is how spelling is checked. Checking the word for spelling, as you see, can be easily and simply, following a simple scheme. Of course, there are always exceptions and it is not always possible to apply such spelling analysis. Sentences, phrases and words can be different. The Russian language is inexhaustibly rich and enriched with amazing speed. Therefore, learn all your life, learn something new every day and do not forget to improve your knowledge!
