"Artemovskoe" champagne: production technology, types, price

Everyone knows the taste of "Artemovsky" champagne, but not everyone knows the technology of its production. This is a complex and time-consuming process, the duration of which depends on the type of sparkling wine and some other factors.

Factory Creation

The foundation date of the Artyomovsk Champagne Wine Factory dates back to 1950. But the prerequisites for its creation appeared much earlier, back in the 19th century. It was at this time in the territory of the Ukrainian city of Artemovsk, Donetsk region, the alabaster plant, which was engaged in the production of gypsum, began to work. Soon, when the gypsum deposits were depleted, the enterprise was closed, leaving numerous galleries underground under a depth of 72 meters.

After the end of World War II, I. Stalin issued an order to create domestic champagne, which would not be inferior in quality to the French drink. The only place that met the necessary production conditions was Artyomovsk adits. To make sparkling wine, similar to a French drink, it was necessary to maintain a constant temperature at 13-14 degrees and a humidity of 89-90% all year round.

Production technology

The process of making sparkling wine is long and laborious. It consists of several important steps.

  1. Blend. The first stage begins in the wine materials shop. First, the wines are combined according to varieties and places of growth, and after 20 days the materials obtained begin to mix, forming the very developed bouquet.
  2. Duplication. At this stage, the wine is bottled, which are corked and sent for aging to champagne in special containers.
  3. Exposure The duration of this stage is at least nine months, and some wines can “rest” for 5-10 years.
  4. Remuage. At this stage, the sediment is reduced to a cork by turning the bottle upright. As such, they are sent to the next workshop.
  5. Deorgage. At this stage, the old cork is removed along with the sediment and the new one is corked. The process is fully automated.
  6. Finish. At this stage, quality control of each bottle is carried out and labels are glued.
