Igor Shevchuk is a Russian poet and writer, journalist and screenwriter. It is known that he is also the author of songs. Shevchuk Igor was born on August 17, 1960. After graduating from Leningrad State University with a degree in Journalism, he joined the Union of Writers, and then the Union of Journalists.

In 1985, he participated in theatrical productions of the Experiment Theater as an actor. The poet gained fame in 1980, when he began working as a journalist in the newspaper Lenin Sparks. Already at that time, the name of Shevchuk became known to young children - his poems were published in the children's magazine "Tram". Critics have argued that Igor’s work for children is on par with poems by Sobakin, Usachev and Kharms. The most famous poems of the poet were the works "Chagallochka" and "Endless caravan."
Creativity in other cultural and entertainment spheres
For a long time Igor Shevchuk collaborated with Eugenia Zaritskaya, who was a music composer. Together with her, he created works for the Samantha children's music ensemble, which was founded in 1986 in the city of St. Petersburg. Shevchuk Igor is the author of most of the songs for this ensemble. He also participated in writing lyrics for such a famous children's ensemble as Fidgets.
In addition to his poetic activity, Igor Shevchuk is the author of books of children's prose "The Adventures of Sherlock Gavs and Dr. Quaxon" and "Someone There on the Heels."
In 2004, the writer was invited to participate in the creation of board games. One of these games was the Wheel of Energy, which was then used to develop the thinking of primary school students in many schools in St. Petersburg.

In addition to success in his writing career, Igor Shevchuk tried himself in creating children's cartoons. One of these projects was the animated series "Smeshariki." It is important that Igor Shevchuk became the author of the idea of the name. Many series of the beloved children's animated series were shot according to the script of the poet. One can already say with accuracy - the project was a huge success, a whole generation of young viewers is growing up on a good animated series, learning to distinguish between good and evil.
In addition to participating in the creation of the Smeshariki project, Igor Shevchuk, whose verses are familiar to many, is actively involved in working on another favorite children's educational animated series. As you know, “Fixics” was loved not only by children, but also by adults, since some of the facts that the animated series offers the viewer were unknown to many until a certain point. In each series, difficult to understand scientific material is presented very simply, which is a huge benefit for the overall development of children.
In addition to creating works that are intended for a children's audience, Shevchuk participated in creating the script for the Russian series Streets of Broken Lights. His contribution to writing scripts for the series “Special Forces”, “Mongoose”, “Criminal Russia” and “Labyrinths of the Mind” greatly changed the planned course of events in the plots. They have become more understandable and original.
Over the years, Shevchuk directed all his work to creating works, both literary and television, which can captivate and help the child develop. In addition to his contribution to television programs on a large spectator scale, in 1998, Igor began work in the radio program for children “Slogotyt”, which is also loved by the younger generation.
