As a rule, outstanding drinks are created by outstanding personalities - the founding fathers, who invest part of the soul in the work. So cognac “Troekurov” - the history of this brand originated in the fifties of the century before last. Then, at the end of the Crimean War, the Kuryanov brothers arrived in the Stavropol Territory, who received quite extensive lands along the banks of the Kuma River, as well as an estate in addition to serving the Motherland.
Russian winemakers
Colonel Mikhail Kuryanov - the elder brother - had a strong growth, a taut look, despite serious injuries. The younger, Aleksei, received an excellent engineering education, and after St. Petersburg University he traveled quite a lot throughout Europe, preferring to borrow French knowledge from distilleries. The brothers devoted themselves to managing the estate, viticulture. And after - and winemaking, creating a brand - Troekurov cognac.
Local vine
It should be noted that not only European varieties were cultivated in the brothers' vineyards, but also local varieties grown on the banks of the Kuma River. Many winemakers then believed: good wine cannot be driven out of this vine - it turned out to be too simple in aroma and sour taste. And in everything they trusted Western technologies and varieties.
"Troekurov" - Russian cognac!
The Kuryanovskoe estate in those years was famous for its beautiful vodka vodka. The Kuryanovs adopted distillation technologies in France and taught the art of owning an alambic to their peasant assistants.
Rye with wheat, ripe garden fruits yielded excellent drinks, some of which were aged for a long time in oak barrels. The secret of the Kuryanovs: not double distillation, as in the homeland of cognacs, but triple. It gave crystal clearness and softness to the produced drinks. And I must say, the trials with a triple smoking of simple wine from a local bunch were brilliant. And one of the brothers was even called - Troekurov in honor of the method invented by him in the high society of Stavropol. Cognac was so good that some connoisseurs did not distinguish it from the best brought from France.
He entered the annals of history and a decanter for a noble drink that Kuryanov Jr. ordered to make in Europe. "Shoulder, stately", with a heavy cork with gilding, he received the name "Troekurov dam."

Much water has flown under the bridge since that time. However, the traditions of creating an excellent Russian cognac “Troekurov” continued to be transmitted by winemakers of Prikumye from generation to generation. According to archival records and stories, the legend was revived of the famous three-time distillation of brothers-winemakers, nowhere else used to make cognac. The modern masters in distillation cubes recreated the technology for creating alcohol from grapes, repeating the secrets of “Troekurovskaya” to the maximum. The cognac “Troekurov” was again made - a crystal reflection of the breadth of the Russian soul, the embodiment of a strong character, cordial hospitality. And the famous “Troekurov dam” became the frame of a precious diamond in the world of cognacs (drawings were also restored according to drawings of the 19th century).

Today, the soft and delicate message of this drink brings Russians back to the traditions of a wide feast - with plentiful dishes of authentic cuisine.
