Cola or soda, which previously meant the same thing, is an integral attribute of almost any more or less long-known and famous cocktail. Such an ingredient acts as a buffer for the strict ethyl taste of the base, giving the finished drink a slightly softer note. In certain cases, cola cocktails allow you to discover new aspects of the alcohol palette, giving it new facets in the language. The article will tell you about several extremely popular and at the same time simple drinks, which everyone can afford to cook.
Cheap ingredient for an affordable cocktail
Yes, cocktails with soda are relatively affordable, but this does not mean that such drinks can be called cheap or tasteless. Such an outdated opinion is mainly characteristic of young people who, preferring the classic Cuba Libre, have never heard of other possibilities of such a drink as soda. However, it should be noted that there are a lot of extremely affordable recipes in the number of drinks prepared with the participation of this ingredient. For example, such a cocktail is cognac with cola. It is very simple and involves only one action - to mix 2: 1.
Extremely simple recipes
This category should include at least 4 varieties of cocktails with cola. It includes such items:
- Cuba Libre. Components: golden rum and cola in a ratio of 3: 1, 200 grams of ice per 50 ml of alcohol and 40 grams of lime (slice + a few drops in a large glass). It is served chilled, rum and cola are mixed in a shaker without ice, it is added later.
- Rum with cola. The difference from the previous recipe suggests only a few theses, among which the main one is a change in the variety of the alcohol base. Used dark or light rum, spices in the form of cloves or cinnamon.
- Bourbon with cola, or whiskey, or cognac. All these varieties of cocktails, as indicated above, involve mixing alcohol with soda in a 2: 1 ratio.
- Vodka with cola. The cocktail is extremely ambiguous, because it is very intoxicating, and the effect of alcohol is not felt as much as in previous versions. The proportions should be increased to 3: 1.
As you can see, itβs absolutely easy to make such cocktails with Coke, you donβt even need a shaker for this, just bulk dishes will be enough. However, they cannot be called a real work of art, although the number of their adherents is quite large.
Somewhat more complex options
Such cocktails with cola should include more versatile and rich in taste palette drinks, namely:
- Boston tea. This cocktail does not have many adherents, but meanwhile it is extremely multifaceted. It should be poured into the shaker in equal proportions (namely 20 ml) orange liquor, coffee liquor, silver tequila, white rum, gin and vodka. 40 grams of lime, 200 grams of ice and 80 milliliters of cola should be added here.
- Cola and liquor. Very feminine and enjoyable drink. Consists of orange, grapefruit or cherry liqueur and cola. Mix the ingredients in a 3: 1 ratio, adding 200 grams of ice in cubes. You can decorate the finished drink with a slice of grapefruit or lime.
- "Long Island Ice Tea". An extremely popular drink, including thanks to various television series. In equal proportions (namely 15 ml), orange liquor, silver tequila, gin, white rum, and vodka should be added to the highball. It should also pour 2 ml of sugar syrup and 50 cola. In addition, do not forget about ice in cubes, you will need 200 grams.
As you can see, alcoholic cocktails with cola are extremely popular. Hardly any other ingredient is as much in demand in the preparation of drinks. This is primarily due to the fact that cola plays the role of an invigorating agent, replacing caffeine. Together with a mild flavor, gas and a new impression of the usual alcohol, this format easily gained popularity.
Kalimocho
Some of the lesser-known cocktails should be considered in more detail. Kalimocho was invented in Spain. This version of the drink became a natural response of the public to the dry law in the 70s of the last century. The Spaniards simply poured their favorite wine into a bottle of soda, after which they quite calmly consumed it right in front of the police. The classic Kalimocho consists of the following ingredients: dry red wine (100 ml) and cola (100 ml). However, later the usual recipe underwent some changes, in particular, sugar syrup, ice, amaretto (a variant of a cocktail from Italy) and limoncello began to be added to the drink, using in this case white wine instead of red.
"Black Widow"
This cocktail belongs to the category of non-alcoholic. The classic "Black Widow" has an extremely simple recipe - ice cream and cola, but later other variations of this cocktail appeared. In particular, you can add whipped cream, melted chocolate, lime or lemon to make the drink more refreshing, coffee for an invigorating accent or wild berry syrup. Dessert always turns out to be extremely tasty, and at the same time simple and easy. In any case, a connoisseur of a good palette will be pleasantly surprised by the combination.
