Probably, many users, if they did not encounter it in practice, at least heard about such a thing as “remote desktop”. True, most inexperienced users have a vague idea of ​​what it is and don’t know how to connect to the desktop of a remote terminal. Let's try to fill this gap.
Remote Desktop: what is it?
Let's start with the definition itself. On Windows systems, this feature is called Remote Desktop Protocol. Roughly speaking, this is a special protocol that allows you to connect to remote desktop in Windows 10 (this also applies to the G8). In addition, it is worth considering that after establishing a connection, access to the home terminal can be carried out not only through a remote PC, but also from a tablet or smartphone.
By using this function, you can access almost all parameters of the remote computer. True, in the G8 and G8, the use of the built-in module has some limitations regarding the impossibility of connecting, for example, logical partitions or USB-drives, as well as editing the information on them. However, this is mostly due to the so-called Modern application.
Windows 10: Remote Desktop Connection What to use?
In principle, for all Windows systems today you can find a huge number of specialized utilities of varying degrees of complexity and the presence of specific functions.
But why install additional programs if Windows 10 can connect to the remote desktop through its own built-in RDP client. Moreover, its configuration in most cases is much simpler than if it were done using third-party software packages.
But here it is worth noting that a fully-functional “native” client is available only in the professional version (Pro). If something like Home is installed, the user will just encounter the above limitations in work. By the way, today most of the sold computers or laptops with a preinstalled system, unfortunately, have a Home version. However, setting up Windows 10 allows you to upgrade online to a professional version. There is nothing particularly complicated about this.
Remote connection to a computer (Windows 10) through the built-in RDP client
So, what needs to be done first of all in order to provide a remote connection to your terminal?
First you should go to the "System" section. The easiest way in this case is to use a combination of Win + Pause or "Computer Properties" when you call the menu with a right click. Here on the left there is a special section for remote access settings.
We go into the section and check all the fields related to granting permissions for remote connection, and use the user selection button. Do not forget to turn off the automatic transition to sleep mode (power section).
In the new window, click on the add user icon, and in the corresponding field enter your “account” if there is no such entry in the access list, or add a new user and enter the relevant data.
To confirm the changes made, use the OK button, after which the IP address will be scanned. When the process is completed, in Windows 10, connecting to the remote desktop will be carried out without any problems.
Please note: in order not to scan the addresses of computers, you can use the ipconfig / all command in the Run menu, and then enter the desired address when entering if you intend to remotely connect to several terminals.
Login
After completing all the above steps, a window will appear on the screen at the very bottom indicating the received IP address. Now you need to log in.
Typically, this is either a Microsoft account with an email address and password, or a computer name and password if you are logging in locally. A little lower there is a line for storing input parameters, opposite which you should put a “bird”.
After that, the system will issue a warning that it was unable to verify the remote terminal. Nothing wrong with that. Ignore this message, check the box "Do not ask again" and press the button "Connect anyway." Now “Remote Desktop” will appear on the screen, and the current IP will be indicated on top.
Change remote computer settings
With the connection, I think the situation has somewhat cleared up. Let us turn to the possibility of changing the parameters of the remote terminal.
In principle, there are not so many opportunities in the "top ten", nevertheless, you can easily adjust the remote PC for yourself: for example, use sound schemes, change the screen settings, etc. This is done from the menu located at the top where the section is selected parameters, and then settings (parameters) of the connection, but on the right.
There are several sliders that allow you to enable or disable the use of a printer, microphone, clipboard, etc. Along the way, you can consider another question regarding working with Windows 10: "Where is the remote desktop?" Using multiple accounts

First, you exit to the initial application window, then select an account change, after which you just need to delete it in the corresponding settings window. Now you can use the new connection with a choice of a different account. Then, as usual, the information necessary for entering (login and password) is entered and the system is logged in.

Of course, the possibilities offered by the Windows 10 setup are not as many as we would like, however, sometimes they can come in handy. If you need to use any specific parameters and settings, it is better to install professional utilities.
