Tatyana Tarasova was born on February 13, 1947 in a sports family. Her mother, Nina Grigoryevna, taught physical education, Tanya’s father, Anatoly Vladimirovich Tarasov, is a well-known hockey coach. Growing up in a certain environment, Tatyana from childhood was fond of sports. The famous father, having discerned his daughter's desire for sports, took up her training, and already at the age of 5 Tatyana skated.
Back in 1966, the future coach Tatyana Tarasova in partnership with George Proskurin became the best at the World Universiade. But at age 19, the athlete was forced to end her career because of a serious injury. The artists of the theater were world-famous stars, under the leadership of Tarasova, who participated in the performances “The Scarlet Flower”, “Sleeping Beauty”, “Russians on Broadway”, “Night on the Bald Mountain”, “Cats”, “Cinderella”, “West Side Story”, Cabaret and other productions.
Tatiana also tried herself as a writer. Tarasova is a trainer whose biography is set out in the book Beauty and the Beast, released in 2002. The book is not only about the author, but also about the underside of the sport, since it contains a lot of genuine information about how hard the great victories went to the champions.
Since 2005, Tatyana Tarasova has been working as a consultant to the Russian Figure Skating Federation, and simultaneously serves as a strict judge of Channel One projects: in 2006 - Stars on Ice, in 2007 - Ice Age, in 2008 - “Ice Age-2.”
Tarasova’s trainer was awarded many orders, awards and honorary titles, including the Order for Merit to the Fatherland (III degree), the Order of Friendship of Peoples and others. Tatyana - Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
She was married three times, the last husband, Vladimir Krainev, died after a long illness in 2011.
