Over the history of the last four summer Olympic Games, in the boxing category in the category of 69 kg, the Kazakhstani participant on the first step of the podium has never done without. In 2016, Daniyar Eleusinov, a 25-year-old athlete, took this baton.

One of the main boxing stars of recent years in Kazakhstan is Eleusinov Daniyar. The biography of the athlete originates in the village of Berezino, West Kazakhstan region, where on March 13, 1991 he was born. Daniyar became interested in sports at the age of 9 and for the first time he trained under the guidance of a well-deserved trainer, his father, Marat, who had previously coached the athlete’s older brother. At 16, Diniyar and his family moved to Astana, where the young talented boxer had good prospects.
World and continental successes
Eleusinov Daniyar won his first youth tournaments before moving, taking part in cadet games. And in 2008, at the world youth championship in Mexico, the Kazakhstani boxer was able to reach the finals, and a year later won the “gold” of the competition, due to which he soon began to be invited to join the main national team of Kazakhstan.

The debut in the adult tournament came for Daniyar in 2010, when the 19-year-old guy confidently won the title of champion of Kazakhstan. In the same year, the boxer was sent to the Asian Games in Guangzhou, from where Eleusinov also brought a gold medal. Two years later, the athlete qualified for the Olympic Games in London and there he managed to get to the quarter finals, where he lost to the Italian Vincenzo Manjacapre. The failure at the Olympics Eleusinov Daniyar completely corrected at the next world championship. Within the framework of the world championship held in Kazakhstan, he confidently reached the final, where he defeated the Cuban Arisnuad Despanier, having won gold.
Victory in Rio and plans to become a pro
The athlete's desire for victories and his success allowed him to go to the Olympic Games for the second time in his career. And in 2016, as part of the Olympic Games in the Brazilian Rio de Janeiro, Daniyar had no equal in the weight category up to 69 kg. The Kazakhstan athlete confidently went through the tournament bracket, having won in the final against Uzbek Shahram Giyasov.
Part of the funds received for this victory Daniyar sent to charity, and he thought about a possible increase in the bar. As a result, now Eleusinov is seriously considering the possibility of participating in professional boxing, in which promoters from the USA are interested. Therefore, in the near future we can expect the first fights of the Kazakhstan athlete in the big ring.
Personal life
In 2015, Eleusinov Daniyar made an important decision in his life, having sealed the bonds of marriage with his girlfriend, who soon gave birth to his son. In his spare time from training, a Kazakhstani athlete loves to play table tennis, billiards or soccer, and does not forget to spend time with his family.
