Everyone knows that only the famous producer of natural silk (mulberry silkworm) eats only mulberry leaves. But in addition to foliage, mulberry also gives very tasty fruits, and its wood is appreciated by cabinetmakers for its beautiful structure and softness in processing. Musical instruments are also made from its wood. And the inhabitants of the southern regions of our country use mulberry wood to obtain fragrant smoked meats.
From the berries cook delicious jam and compotes, make aromatic light wine. In those days when there was no mention of chemical dyes, mulberry was also used to dye fabrics. This benefit is now doubtful, as those who collect and process the berries โflauntโ their hands and lips with their characteristic purple-colored lips. But this paint, although persistent, is displayed quite easily - it is enough to wipe the right places with the juice of the berries of the same mulberry, only immature, and the whole color will instantly disappear.
What an amazing mulberry tree. Its use for humanity is only comparable with the coconut palm, which also feeds and dresses the inhabitants of the tropics. We have coconuts, unfortunately, can only be found in stores, but this is not a reason to feel left out.
The healing properties of mulberries have long been used by representatives of the so-called
alternative medicine. The fruits of this tree contain a huge amount of nutrients. Doctors have not yet identified contraindications for the use of such a tasty and healthy berry as mulberry. The harm and benefits of most plants usually go side by side, but there is absolutely no harm from mulberry. Unless you eat too many overripe fruits and earn an upset stomach. Or you will have individual intolerance of the mulberry. But even in the case of the aforementioned disorder, the culprit of which may be mulberry, the benefit will prevail: you clear the intestines of toxins.
The only thing that can be recommended is not to pick up the fallen fruits from the ground. Mulberry berries sour quickly. If you want to harvest, spread a canvas or plastic wrap under the tree, onto which you shake off the berries. Harvested fruits are moved, transferred to the desired containers and prepared for processing.
