An energy engineer must have a certain set of knowledge, an appropriate level of education. The requirements in this profession are quite high. An energy specialist should have knowledge of the rational operation of equipment, and how to repair it, and have experience working on it. To do this, he needs to understand the design features, the rules of technical operation, operating modes and technical characteristics of power equipment.
An experienced power engineer sees the prospects for the development of a technical enterprise and is able to properly organize an energy economy. In relation to the employees of the enterprise, this person must be fair, know all the labor protection standards and the basics of labor legislation, labor and management. An energy engineer must interact with partners of the enterprise from third-party organizations, solve issues directly related to his competence.
Directly at the production site, such an employee is obliged to carry out technical supervision of all heat engineering and electrical devices. He has the right to personally prepare boilers operating under pressure, to be put into operation of electrical installations, and other energy facilities, for which he is an energy engineer. His responsibilities are quite wide. In fact, he almost independently prepares materials for contracts with contractors regarding equipment repair.
Work as a power engineer is considered quite complicated and responsible. It is necessary to ensure the smooth operation of not only energy equipment, but also gas pipelines, heating networks, air pipelines. This is not an easy task.
An energy engineer must calculate the amount of fuel needed to operate the equipment of the entire enterprise, prepare reports and supply contracts, and monitor the correct use of valuable fuel in order to save resources. The same applies to heat, electricity, and other types of energy. The employee must correctly determine the norms of their consumption. Also, an experienced power engineer has the right to participate in new projects in production, introducing advanced technologies. Such an irreplaceable employee has the right to receive any information of interest to him about the ongoing project, as well as the possibility of a personal appeal to the enterprise management on all working issues. He can make suggestions for improving the work proposed by the enterprise and involve specialists from different departments for their formation.
An energy engineer is responsible for his actions in accordance with an employment contract concluded with the enterprise. It can occur in the case of moral and material damage, an offense in the course of the employee’s activities, as well as in connection with the failure to fulfill official duties and orders of the enterprise’s management.
