Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant OJSC is a large city-forming airline located in the capital of Buryatia. It produces Mi-8/171 helicopters of various modifications, repairs and modernizes old equipment.
The beginning of the way
In 1939, workshops were built on the outskirts of the city of Ulan-Ude, where gliders and aircraft engines were repaired, components for the Irkutsk Aviation Plant were manufactured. When the war began, most Soviet aircraft were destroyed in the first weeks of the conflict. The army was in dire need of aircraft. In a matter of months, with heroic efforts, workers erected new buildings. The workshops were converted into a full-fledged factory, where they began assembling aircraft of Petlyakov and Lavochkin designs.
Work days
After the war, the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant first mastered the production of a MiG-15 jet engine aircraft. The model was superior to piston counterparts. 1,500 units were produced, 450 of which fought during the Korean conflict. One of the cars is installed on a pedestal in front of the entrance.
Over the years, U-UAZ has produced thousands of units of MiG-15, La-7, MiG-27M, Yak-25, An-24, Su-25 aircraft, Mi-8, Ka-25, Mi-17 helicopters (171) . No airline has in its assets such an impressive line of manufactured products.

Also, the upgrade will affect the machining area of control system parts. The plant will receive CNC machines, control and measuring systems, and auxiliary equipment. In 2015, 20 machines were delivered to U-UAZ to optimize the serial production of Mi-171A2. 10 universal complexes are being prepared for operation for the manufacture and refinement of special technical equipment, as well as four machining centers.
It was affected by the upgrade and the blanking and stamping production: in 2015, the cutting complex was launched. The management plans to upgrade the machine park by 80%. Only automated processing equipment that does not require manual control will be purchased.

Siberian hardening
In recent years, European countries have experienced unprecedented frosts below -30 ° C, which are also accompanied by heavy snowfalls. Cold and rainfall paralyzed the vital activity of many European countries, complicating the work of emergency services. The EU aviation authorities, due to frosts, restricted helicopter flights - in fact, the main means of saving people in such extreme conditions.
The EU helicopter fleet consists of non-Russian-made cars. Nevertheless, a number of European countries preferred the products of the Russian Helicopters holding, including Mi-171 helicopters, which can be effectively used in conditions of severe cold and icing.
