Grenade throwing is a common exercise in athletics. Especially when passing standards in a school or army. This exercise has gained popularity in recent years, thanks to the return to Russia of the mass delivery of the standards of the TRP "Ready for Labor and Defense".
Range throwing
There are several ways to throw training grenades. One of the most common of them is throwing grenades at a range. This is done from the start or from the spot, at the discretion of the judges and the organizers of the competition and the passing of standards.
The projectile is a training grenade, whose weight is 600 grams. Each participant has three attempts. If you perform this exercise in the army, then the special requirements will be on the form. The form should be field with a gun in his hand. At the same time, some concessions are allowed - an open collar or a slightly weakened belt on the belt are allowed. At the same time, removing the headgear is strictly prohibited.
Throwing a grenade at a distance is made from a special bar, and it can also be replaced by a line about 4 meters long. Attention is also paid to the quality of the run track. It should be dense, with a width of about one and a half meters, and a length of at least 25 meters. At the very end, in front of the bar from which the shot is to be thrown, the width of the track increases to 4 meters.
How to set the results?
The throw is counted only if the grenade fell within the corridor without flying out in width. In this case, the senior judge gives the command: “Yes,” and the athlete’s result is recorded in the protocol. Another condition is that the participant must not break the rules during the throw, for example, not to go beyond the limits of the runway to run, not to cross the line.
The head judge also raises the flag. Thus, he instructs the measuring judge to record the result. He makes a special measurement.
An attempt is not counted if the athlete violates one of the rules: it concerns any part of the body or uniforms of the space below the line. And all the same, at the time of the throw or immediately after it. Treads on the bar itself or touches it.
A trace left by a grenade falling into the corridor is marked with a peg. Measurement of the athlete's result is carried out using a tape measure. Accuracy is set to a centimeter.
Measurements are not taken immediately, but only after all three throws are completed. The best score is entered in the competition protocol.
If two or more athletes show the same results, then it is considered that they shared places. An exception to this rule is only when determining the winner. If several athletes with the same indicators claim to win, they are given an additional three throws.
Precision grenade throwing
Throwing grenades in this way is also done from the start or from a place. At a distance of 40 meters from the thrower are 3 circles. It’s most difficult to get into the central one - its diameter is only half a meter, and this hit is rated with the highest score.
The radius of the second circle is one and a half meters, and the third two and a half. The main goal of the athlete is to get to the very center of the target, in which a red flag is installed at a height of 30 centimeters from the ground. The uniform, as well as the size and weight of the training grenade, are the same as when throwing a projectile at a range.
Moreover, in order to hit the target, the participant is given a lot more attempts. Three only trial and 15 shots in the classification. Moreover, the athlete is limited in time. He can train no more than a minute, and throw test throws for a maximum of 6 minutes.
Throw Estimation
Throwing grenades at a target is judged by a judge who is in close proximity to the target. After each attempt, he evaluates the accuracy of the hit and raises the corresponding plate, also duplicates this information in a voice. Only after the mark for the throw is allowed to throw the next grenade.
Hit in each section of the target is estimated by a different number of points. For a grenade in the central circle, the athlete will receive 115 points, for getting into the second round 75 points and, finally, for getting into the third round - 45 points.
If the grenade fell into the check box installed in the very center of the target, then extra points for this are not provided. The athlete will receive 115 points.
Winners are determined in both personal and team championships.
Throwing technique
The first rule that you need to know in order for the grenade throwing technique to be true is how to properly hold the projectile.
It is important to hold the grenade so that the handle of the projectile rests against the athlete’s little finger with its base. The little finger itself at this time should be bent and pressed as much as possible to the palm. The remaining fingers should fit tightly over the handle of the grenade.
Another important point is the location of the thumb. It can be both along the axis of the projectile and across it.
Throwing exercise
In order to master the training in throwing grenades, experts advise you to perform certain exercises.
The first one. Stand in a standard rack - legs shoulder width apart. Hold the hand in which you hold the grenade over your shoulder. Simulate a throw by alternately straightening your arms forward and up. So at least 9-10 times.
The next exercise. Starting position too. The training grenade during the training can be replaced by a ball. Throw the ball to the floor and catch it after the bounce. Repeat the exercise at least 10-15 times.
Last tip. Perform a similar exercise with the ball bouncing off, but from the wall, and then from the target, also drawn on the wall. In doing so, strive to get as close to the center as possible. Throws from a distance of 5-6 meters.
Throwing rules
The rules for throwing grenades are not too complicated, but to get the best results, it’s important to know some secrets.
Athletes who choose the best way to capture the projectile demonstrate high performance. And it depends on the individual characteristics of the participant in the competition. There are several of them - finger length, arm strength, joint mobility.
The most important thing is to guarantee reliable fixation of the grenade at the moment when the athlete is preparing for the throw. At the same time, it is important to increase the lever so that the center of gravity of your projectile is as high as possible in the thrower’s hand.
Athlete Run
An important element in the implementation of this element of the TRP standards is the athlete's take-off before throwing a grenade. In order to prepare for this finishing effort, there are two ways. The decisive element itself before the throw is to correctly deflect the projectile.
Knowing these little tricks can achieve good results by throwing a grenade. The implementation technique in the first method is to take the projectile straight back.
The second method of throwing is to take the projectile in an arc, first forward, then down and at the end sharply back.
Crucial element
So, in order to properly conduct grenade throwing, the standards must be met, you must clearly follow the instructions.
We start with a preliminary run. It is necessary to gain optimal speed in order to approach the control mark in the optimal form. Best of all, if the takeoff is 10-12 wide half-steps, half-jumps. It is recommended to start the swing for the removal of a grenade by placing the left foot on the bar.
Before the throw, there are two decisive stages - a cross step and placing the foot in the stop position.
After the foot is put in focus, braking with the foot and lower leg begins, while the pelvis continues to move forward. At this time, the athlete’s right leg is straightened in the knee joint, the hip joint gets a push forward and up.
The next stage - the athlete takes his left hand far back, while greatly stretching the pectoral muscles. The right hand at this time is straightened in the elbow joint. When the right hand flies past the head, the elbow joint is straightened and the grenade goes flying at the desired athlete to achieve the maximum angle. At the final stage, a brush-shaped throw is made with a brush and the grenade finally comes off the hand.
Now it’s important to slow down so as not to cross the line and the attempt was counted. In order to stay on the feet, the athlete needs to jump from the supporting left foot to the right. In this case, the left leg is best taken back and lean forward a little. Then straighten sharply, take your shoulders back while helping yourself with your hands.
It is important to brake in time and guaranteed not to cross the line, with your left foot you need to start stopping one and a half to two meters before the throw line. This can be done closer, but it depends on the athlete’s qualifications and the speed that he gained while running.
By following all these recommendations, you can demonstrate the highest results in throwing a grenade.
