Wild boar, or wild pig, has long been considered one of the trophies of hunters. This serious and quick-witted beast in ancient times was called a boar. He is always ready to stand up for his life, while being very dangerous.
Hunting wild boar in winter has always been of great interest to hunters. What her lover does not dream of having a trophy from his fangs? In the winter months, the wild boar lacks food, because all the vegetation has remained under deep snow. In general, hunting during this period is characterized by the fact that the future victim in the cold season lacks food, and for this reason all her behavior comes down to finding food. Therefore, the features of seasonal hunting often consist in “playing” on the natural habits of the beast in the process of finding food.
There are several ways in which wild boar hunting is carried out in winter. The first is the extraction of a wild boar with a corral. At the same time, the beaters line up in a living chain and try to drive the beast to shooters who are hiding in certain places. People often bring specially trained dogs with them in order to ease the drive.
However, such a hunt for wild boar in winter is fraught with enough dangers, since a wounded angry cleaver is a very serious opponent. You need to aim at the boar very accurately, since the shot animal is strong on the wound. And even such a serious wound as a wound in the heart will not prevent him from running 50-100 meters. Therefore, you need to chase the prey very carefully, with great care examining all the surrounding bushes: a wild pig often hides there, and then suddenly rushes at the offender and hits him with his fangs.
The second method, which is also used no less often, is to hunt a wild boar in winter from a tower, which is built on a special feeding platform, and then a shooter hides in it. Since fanged animals are regularly fed near the tower with potatoes or grain, in the evenings the herds themselves come to the place of feeding. And the hunter has no choice but to wait patiently for the arrival of the boar.
Usually a few shooters rises to the tower. They can communicate with each other only with the help of gestures or signals. In no case should you talk or smoke, this can scare away the beast. Boar hunting in the winter from the tower is carried out exclusively at night, as the boar comes to feed only at night. However, hunters must arrive at a place earlier than him, usually at dusk.
There is another, rather rarely used type of hunting - this is a hinge on a wild boar. For this kind of mind you need ingenuity and certain experience. First you need to study all the paths along which the boar goes to feed, to trace its frequent paths to a watering hole, etc. This is easier to do in the winter, when hoof marks are clearly imprinted in the snow. That is why hunting a wild boar with a noose most often occurs in winter in the first snow.
The boar hinge must be very strong to withstand a sufficiently massive carcass of a wild pig. You need to hang it on the boar’s path so that the boar will fly headlong into it, that is, in the center and not too high: about one meter above the surface of the earth.
The end of the loop must be tied to the nearest reliable tree, so that the animal maddened by pain could not tear it together from the ground with a loop, and wrap the end several times around the trunk.
An important factor is the clothes of the hunter. It should be silent, windproof and waterproof, warm and have many additional pockets. Footwear for hunting in winter should also be selected wisely: for example, it is better not to wear boots, as legs can freeze over the day. Many avid hunters, in addition to special shoes, also buy felt boots.
