Who is the parasite? Origin, meaning, synonyms and interpretation

We know that in the USSR there was an article for parasitism. Therefore, many people worked fictitiously, someone was helped by relatives, someone was arranged by friends. Now, idleness has ceased to bother the state and has become a personal matter for everyone. Although it is thought that the authorities will still take on those who skimp on work. But our business now is the “parasite”. The noun is what interests us at the moment.

Origin

The author of a fairy tale about Balda

The etymological dictionary says that the noun appeared due to the union of the adverb “in vain” and the noun “poisons” - “eater”, “hunter to eat”. Translated freely: "this is one who eats for nothing."

The latter must be decrypted. If you read Pushkin’s “Balda”, then in the text you can find the ratio of the products consumed by the priest employee and the results of his labor: “Eats for four, works for seven.” From this it follows that Balda is not a parasite, this is understandable.

But with the hero of our study, it is the other way round: he is, but energy is not spent on socially useful work, but in general it is not known what. And this greatly irritated the Soviet government. Although, if you actually approach, then some writers or rock musicians were not parasites, and we will certainly find evidence for this further. In fact, it is not difficult to confirm the hypothesis: they wrote books, songs, played housekeepers and underground concerts. Is this work? Only the authorities did not see any benefit in such activities. But now our "underground" are classics, and some even survived to a brighter future.

Value

Books are the result of the writer's work

Let the reader not be angry with us for the fact that we began to interpret the meaning without waiting for the section: the topic is interesting. Therefore, the words literally tear the soul and pour out on the sheet. In addition, when it comes to parasites-loafers, I want to ask: who can be considered as such? Calm, if you slightly paraphrase a well-known aphorism, there will be questions to all your answers. But we will start with the explanatory dictionary: "A man who lives on someone else's account, by someone else's work." Here is a harsh definition. Sometimes a parasite is, rather, a legal term that refers to a person working secretly or, to use a less mysterious language, unofficially. And if it is even easier to say, then he does not pay taxes to the state treasury, never and never.

Poet or parasite: how to distinguish one from another?

True, sometimes this characteristic is true and does not contain any double bottom or stones hidden in the water. Have you ever met young poets who write bad poems, but at the same time there is more pathos in them than, for example, Yesenin can afford? As you might guess, such people, as a rule, have no work, and they live at the expense of their parents.

Such people do not necessarily try on the role of poets, but the latter first come to mind. If the reader still has professions that were invaded by impostors, he can mentally add them and put them on a par. And yes, creative professions often suffer from such incidents, because the imaginary creative intelligentsia is not obliged to present something as a result of their work.

Synonyms

Red cat lies on the table and relaxes.

The paradox is that a real writer or journalist will not beat themselves in the chest and say: "I am a writer!" Yes, in this context, the remarkable miniature of D. Harms is recalled, but here we dare not quote it. We’ll learn more about what the list of synonyms includes. Parasite is still the main character:

  • a loafer;
  • drone;
  • parasite;
  • parasite;
  • burrower;
  • whip;
  • alien back.

The last two definitions are marvelous, albeit slightly awkward, especially the latter. They have one meaning at all. We hope the reader will draw the right conclusions from the material. But it is also not necessary to strictly judge those who find themselves in the role of a loafer. Sometimes a parasite is a coincidence. Yes, sometimes this happens.
