Childhood
Uruguayan midfielder was born on February 7, 1993 in the capital of Uruguay. From an early age he was actively fond of football, but only in 2003 he was able to enter the local football school of his native club. For nine years he defended the colors of the local team in various tournaments and competitions. At the age of 15, a young Uruguayan, together with his club, won the championship, so Diego decided to spend the next several years in his native team, trying to break into the main team.
Career
The Uruguayan midfielder began taking the first steps in big football at the age of 10, when he joined the local team. Playing for the youth squad, by the age of 19 a promising midfielder was able to debut for the first team. After six months of performances, the young football player was able to score the first goal in an official meeting. However, the goal scored by Diego Laskalt did not help his native club win in that meeting. For the first season, the talented midfielder spent 15 incomplete matches, in which he scored only one goal, and also helped the club become the vice champion in the national championship.
Thanks to outstanding performances in the Argentinean team, a young and talented midfielder was noticed in Europe. In particular, the young footballer was offered to move to the Portuguese โBenficaโ and โPortโ, but a talented midfielder chose the Italian โInterโ, signing a long-term contract with the Italian club. The transfer cost the Italian club more than two million euros.
The first seasons in the new club did not work out for the talented midfielder, so the Uruguayan spent the first three seasons on lease. The first club was the Italian Bologna, in which the young footballer played the role of a substitute, coming on as a substitute. Uruguayan midfielder played 15 matches for Bologna, in which he could distinguish himself as much as two times.
After the lease at Bologna, the young football player was given to Empoli, but the promising football player had only four fights for Empoli.

The transfer amount amounted to 18 million euros, however, more than half of that amount, the Milanese gave Genoa for the previous purchase. The contract with the football player was signed until 2022, and the salary amounted to almost 2 million euros per season.
To date, a talented football player is trying to break into the main squad of the Italian โMilanโ, but most of the matches the Uruguayan football player sat on the bench.
Career Team
After the first season spent on a professional level, a promising midfielder was invited to the youth team, where Diego was able to play at the South American Youth Championship, and then at the World Youth Championship. The magnificent game of the young midfielder helped the youth team to reach the finals of the World Youth Championship, but the Uruguayan team won only silver medals, losing in the final to the strong French team.
Already in 2016, Diego received a call to the adult national team, but the debut occurred only two years later, when the young football player was released in a duel against Venezuela. Uruguayans confidently won that match, scoring three unanswered goals against the opponent.

At the World Championships in Russia, the footballer was able to debut only in the second round, having played 30 minutes in the match. In the next two meetings, the national team head coach allowed the midfielder to leave in the starting lineup and play both matches to the end. Diego Laxalt did not score goals at the World Cup.
