Guinea is located in West Africa on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. It is surrounded by the states: Sierra Leone, Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Côte d'Ivoire and Mali. The territory of the country is almost completely covered by mountains and plateaus. Due to this relief, Guinea has significant reserves of metal ores and precious stones.
In the XIX century, the French learned about the fertile land. At first, they tried to trade with local residents, but, having failed to agree, they began to build military fortresses. By 1904, Guinea became controlled by France. Guinea was only 54 years old, but the official language of the country is French, and Guinean franc is used as the currency.
The country produces gold, diamonds, bauxite, uranium, grow various crops and raise livestock. But she is confidently on the list of underdeveloped countries with uncertain economies and high mortality rates.

The national flag of the republic was approved in 1958, a few days after the declaration of independence of the country. The flag is a composition of three vertical stripes. They are all the same size.
The meaning of the flowers is not new; they are quite typical of the heraldic tradition of African states. The strip nearest to the pole is painted red. It symbolizes the blood of the people that they shed in the struggle for freedom. The yellow bar in the middle of the flag indicates the sun, and gold is one of the country's main resources. The colored flag of Guinea is similar to the flag of Mali, Gann and Ethiopia. Only the last two stripes are located horizontally, while in Mali they have a different order. Red, yellow and green are the traditional pan-African colors that are found on many other flags of the “black continent”.
