Konstantin Erokhin: the story of powerful fists

Konstantin Erokhin is a Russian heavyweight fighter who played in the Fight Nights promotion and tried to conquer the UFC. Alas, the attempt to become one of the top fighters of the best organization of the planet failed. Despite this, Konstantin enjoys the deserved love of fans.

Biography of Konstantin Erokhin

The future fighter was born in 1982 in Moscow. Since childhood, he loved swimming, but in the end decided to do mixed martial arts. He studied MMA, boxing, army hand-to-hand combat, combat sambo. By the way, unlike many fighters, Konstantin Erokhin has a higher education. He once graduated from the Humanities Academy with a degree in Psychology.

Professional career started in 2012. In a relatively short period of time, Konstantin showed excellent results. Now he represents the fighting club "Fortress" (Moscow).

Carier start

The first battle was unsuccessful. The opponent was the experienced Denis Goltsov, a multiple participant and prize winner of combat sambo championships. The fight ended spectacularly - Goltsov performed a backfist (a punch from the U-turn), which sent Erokhin to the floor.

Failure did not cool the ardor of Constantine. In the same 2012, he again fought, this time with the Dutchman Jermaine Van Roy as part of the Fight Nights show. The battle ended with the victory of Konstantin Erokhin by knockout in the first round.

Knockout master

The Russian fighter demonstrated excellent striking technique, having won the next 4 victories in a row by knockouts and technical knockouts in the first round. The sixth career fight took place against Cameroonian Romo Thieri Sokoju, known for participating in Pride, Affliction and UFC. Erokhin spectacularly knocked out the opponent in the second minute of the first round, confirming his ability to compete on equal terms with representatives of the top division.

This victory was followed by another difficult test. The next rival was Brett Rogers, a powerful “drummer” who once fought in Strikeforce and knocked out UFC champion Andrei Arlovsky. Rogers is known for his “cast-iron” fists and extremely offensive style, so fans are prepared for a bloody battle. However, everything turned out differently. Brett Rogers, knowing the knockout power of Konstantin Erokhin, from the very beginning took up a dull defense and tried to get the enemy from a distance. Since Konstantin was much more active, as a result, he won by the decision of the judges following the results of three rounds. After several more victories, the Russian fighter received an invitation to the major league of the planet - UFC.

Unsuccessful sequel

Alas, the UFC fighters pretty quickly realized how to fight with a Russian. The first opponent, Viktor Pest, decided not to play on the opponent’s field, but to quickly transfer him to the ground and “import” there until a decision is made. He easily succeeded. As it turned out, Konstantin is not very good at defending against takedowns, and he feels insecure on the floor. The duel turned out to be relatively boring and spectacular. The logical result is the defeat of the Russian fighter.

Fans were upset, but prepared to see in the next battle a completely different Erokhin - who pulled up the fight or, at least, better defending himself from the aisles in his legs. Alas, the miracle did not happen. The octagon veteran Gabriel Gonzaga , who was exposed against the Russian, acted in the same way, actively using the struggle. The battle was completely uninteresting and was followed by the dismissal of Konstantin Erokhin from the UFC.

According to the Russian fighter, he himself is to blame for the defeats. Unfamiliar surroundings, the need to periodically make trips and reach a new level “knocked him down”. In addition, Konstantin noted that the UFC fighters are ready to continue the fight even in the most difficult conditions.

The Russian does not intend to end his career. At the moment, he is preparing for the next battle. Perhaps in the future we will see bright knockouts, thanks to which Konstantin Erokhin became so famous.
