Roberto Soldado, whose photo is presented in the article, began his career in the amateur team “Don Bosco” of his native city of Valencia. Already at the age of 14 he received an offer from the leadership of Real Madrid. For a long time he played for the youth of the royal club. He went through all stages of the selection of young players in the team’s academy. Roberto was the leader of the youth squad when the team managed to rise from the third to the second Spanish division.

In the 2005/2006 season, Soldado made his debut in an adult team in the country's top division. Almost immediately was played in the Champions League. At the same time, Roberto Soldado managed to score in both tournaments.

Rental period

In 2007, the management of Real Madrid decided to send Roberto Soldado on lease due to the high competition for the position of striker in the team. Young talent went to Osasuna to receive playing practice. During the season, the new team Soldado scored 14 goals and was recognized by the club fans as the opening of the season.

The next year was less successful for Roberto. Returning to the location of Real Madrid in the 2007/2008 season, the striker was forced to compete for a place in the first team with Ore Van Nistelrooy himself, who at that time was at the peak of form and was the most productive player in the top Spanish division. Therefore, Roberto Soldado soon went on lease again. This time, Getafe became the club of young talent.

In the winter off-season of 2009 in the Spanish press more and more information began to appear about the interest in Roberto Soldado from the club from the football player’s hometown. The leadership of “Valencia” considered the young striker as a substitute for the best scorer of the team David Villiers, who was going to continue his career in another championship.

The agreement with the football player was signed on June 9, 2010. According to official information, the contract with the striker cost Valencia 10 million euros.

Soon, statistics about the success of the newcomer to the team were waiting for Roberto Soldado. Already at the end of the debut season at Valencia, the striker scored 17 goals. Thus, the football player became the first Spanish player who managed to become the top scorer in the second and then the top division of the country.

A new achievement awaited Soldado in the confrontation between Valencia and the Belarusian BATE in the Champions League. In the duel that took place on October 23, 2012, Roberto scored the first hat-trick in his career, having hit the opponent’s goal three times. Due to the high performance of the striker in the tournament, the Spanish club eventually managed to occupy the first position in the group.

In the summer off-season of 2013, London Tottenham officially announced the signing of a contract with the Spanish scorer. The amount indicated in the document amounted to a record for the club 30 million euros. It is worth noting that Roberto Soldado immediately began to justify the money invested in him, having marked a goal scored already in the debut match for a new team in the championship game against Crystal Palace.

In the period from 2013 to 2015, the striker played 52 matches for the London club in all tournaments. However, during this time, the footballer managed to sign at the rivals' goal only 7 times. Due to poor performance, Roberto often had to warm the bench in an English club. Therefore, in the summer off-season of 2015, Soldado decided to move to the Spanish “Villarreal”, where he continues his career to this day.
