Alexey Vladimirovich Ivanov was born on September 1, 1981 in the city of Saratov. From an early age he began to play football. He is a graduate of the Saratov football academy of the Sokol club, where he played for a long time at the youth level.

In 1999, Alexei Ivanov began his professional career at Sokol by signing a contract. The young defender failed to make his debut for the main team due to lack of experience. Soon after the signing of the agreement, he was leased to the Balakovo club from the city of the same name, who played in the second league of Russia in the Volga zone.
