Ostrava is an ancient city that was built at the end of the 12th century, located in the east of the Czech Republic. It is the center of the Moravian-Silesian Region. History
Since ancient times, the city of Ostrava was located at the intersection of major trade routes. Until the end of the XVIII century, it was a small provincial town with a population of only a thousand people. They were mainly artisans.
The economic development of the city began in 1763, when it was possible to discover coal deposits. From this time, the mining industry begins to develop. At the same time, by order of King Rudolph, the first metallurgical plant was laid.
After the construction of the Northern Railway (in 1847), the industrial growth of the city is gaining momentum. In the XX century, the population increases, the infrastructure of Ostrava improves. During the Velvet Revolution (1989), a reconstruction of industry was taking place in the city. In 1994, coal production was completely stopped, and metallurgical plants were sold to transport companies.

Milos Sikora Bridge

Zabreh Castle

Pikard beer is brewed there according to recipes that have been carefully preserved since the 16th century.
Cravarge Castle
All visitors admire and amaze Ostrava (Czech Republic). The attractions of this city are very diverse. For example, the castle of Kravarge is the former residence of the gentlemen of Benesovice. It is located in the eponymous small town that appeared near Ostrava in the 13th century.
The castle was built in the XIV century in a village in which at that time there was a church, a trading area and several prosperous farms. The castle was originally decorated in the Gothic style, but changed over time.
After World War II, it became the property of the state, and the new authorities placed a school here. Later it was reconstructed and a museum was opened.
Around the castle of Kravarge preserved magnificent English park with artificial lakes and centuries-old trees.
