Restaurant "Manor" is a rather unique place, which includes the sophistication of relaxation combined with a high level of cuisine.
What was before
Even in the distant XVII century, the estate, called the Great Slepyanka, belonged to the Radziwills. After a while, namely at the beginning of the XIX century, it was sold to Vankovich. From that moment to this day it bears its proud name - the Vankovichi estate. Initially, the house was made of wood, but it was gradually upset, and by the middle of the 19th century it had become a full-fledged brick house. Near the estate were a beautiful large pond, alleys and dams. Almost until 1920, it was the Vankovichi who owned all this manor complex.
The era of Soviet power brought with it many experiences. This building has been repeatedly resold, re-planned. It housed a state farm office, a potato-growing station, a combine and the Minsk NKVD school. Later, the mansion was even used as a residential building and a club. And 1981 brought peace to the house, because it was recognized as a monument of culture and history.
Restaurant "Manor" is a place that is created for people who appreciate high cuisine and have a predisposition to refined relaxation. It is almost the only restaurant complex in our country, combining the culinary traditions of several countries, namely Pan-Asian cuisine, Austrian, Belarusian and German.
What happened to the estate
The Vankovichi Manor is an architectural monument to this day. However, the designers made some changes. Of course, the house was completely restored. Today, this luxurious two-story building includes a fashionable restaurant-club, in which there are ten halls.
These chic halls have already been used for banquets, luxurious weddings and corporate parties. And recently, the Manor restaurant opened its doors to the general public. There is an interesting fact: ten million dollars were spent on the reconstruction of this architectural monument. I wonder what happened in the end?
Interesting facts of reconstruction
The restaurant-estate of Vankovichi on Filimonova began to undergo changes since 2009. The Univest-M company undertook the construction, which ascertained the fact that when she set to work, the Vankovichi estate was already in disrepair. This was expressed in the fact that almost nothing remained of the original layout.
More precisely, in the original form, the stairs and gates had forged fences. The interiors of the 19th century were luxurious, the decor was rich and amazing, but, unfortunately, nothing was left of this splendor either. The floors are rotten, the brickwork is destroyed, the floors and walls were subject to deformation. In general, everything indicated that this building was easier to demolish than to restore, and in its place to rebuild another. But the Ministry of Culture defended the architectural monument and insisted on its maximum preservation.
How did the estate change
According to the designers themselves, the Vankovichi estate acquired an almost original form, as it was in the 19th century. Of course, adjustments were made. Accordingly, certain extensions were made, an elevator was installed.
According to the head of this large-scale reconstruction project, Alexander Konovalenko, the estate was visited most often by the Belarusian intelligentsia. And if you take the turn of the XIX-XX centuries, then in those days, cultural life here literally raged. It is this fact that became the basis for the restoration of the complex itself.
Vankovichi Manor is a restaurant so that people have the opportunity of intellectual communication. Another important function of the complex is a high level of catering. After all, the guests of the estate not only communicate, but also have a meal.
Ground floor
Let's start with the front doors, they are metal and do not look quite presentable, but this element will soon be replaced. Initially, the first floor was intended for the location of bedrooms there. Now, after the reconstruction, it includes two rooms, which accommodate forty people, and you can try the Pan-Asian cuisine.
The basement was also redone: if before there was a kitchen, now there are four halls of Austrian-German orientation, or, more simply, with beer restaurants. The underground part of the complex includes a kitchen, ventilation rooms and other engineering systems.
Second floor
The Vankovichi Manor on Filimonova is a two-story complex, striking in its rich interior. So, on the second floor of this complex there are ceremonial halls. Here you can enjoy Belarusian cuisine, and each of the rooms has its own unique historical name. Designers tried to recreate the decoration that delighted people of the mid-19th century.
Ballroom is a room intended for exhibitions, literary readings. Almost everything was restored here, even the parquet was collected according to the fragments that have remained since those distant times. The decor delights, large paintings by contemporaries of the Vankovichs were restored and returned to their places.
The Vankovich manor, the photo proves this, has not lost its sophistication at all, except that it has become a bit more modern after reconstruction. If you take a large dining room with a coffered ceiling, it did not lose its sophistication at all, because even the original drawing was completely restored, due to the fact that the description of the ceiling has been preserved. The dimensions of the attic were arranged, and an excellent attic floor with a banquet hall came out. The individual style of each room in this large restaurant attracts attention.
For whom is all this splendor?
According to reviews, Vankovich’s estate, as it has been transformed into a restaurant-club, will accept intellectuals, people from high society. In general, all those who are sufficiently well-off financially can visit the estate. However, festive shows, parties, vivid shows and various celebrations are also not ruled out. Creative evenings and meetings will also be held.
Not forgotten about the children here. The estate staff has been replenished with professional nannies who can look after the child. To do this, a separate children's club has been created with various cognitive games and performances. And if the kid is determined to just have fun, for this there is a playground for outdoor games.
