OJSC “Revdinsky brick factory” is a large industry enterprise specializing in the manufacture of building materials. Located in the city of Revda, Sverdlovsk region. Production facilities allow the production of 60-80 million ceramic bricks annually. The organization is included in the Top 100 of the best construction and installation companies in the country, and in 2004 and 2006 it was recognized as the best in Russia.
Start
In the 30s, large-scale construction of large metallurgical, mining, machine-building, and defense enterprises began in the Urals. Around them grew villages and entire cities. The construction of industrial buildings and housing required a large number of building materials.
In 1935, not far from Sverdlovsk (Yekaterinburg), the Revdinsky brick factory was established, which supplied brick for both the regional center and the needs of the Revda village and nearby settlements. The company's capacity was about 10 million units of products.
Development
For many years, the company worked in an extensive mode, but in the 60s a program was launched to modernize technological equipment. As part of the country's gasification strategy, “blue fuel” came to the Sverdlovsk Region, which allowed us to transfer the kilns of the Revdinsky brick factory from expensive solid fuels to more economical and easy-to-use natural gas. In addition, thanks to the installation of automatic machines for multi-string cutting of bricks and reconstruction of the drying department, it was possible to increase the overall productivity and significantly improve the quality of products.
70-80s
Gradually, the Revdinsky brick factory became one of the industry leaders in the region. In the 70s, a removable vault equipped with heat shields was mounted on the main ring furnace. This allowed several times to reduce heat loss, and therefore reduce fuel consumption. Many operations were mechanized, which allowed to increase productivity to 48 million bricks per year.
In 1986, a momentous event for the Revdinsky brick factory took place - the second workshop was commissioned. It is equipped with an Italian automated line, which has reduced the use of manual labor to a minimum. Although the annual design capacity of the equipment was 65 million bricks, in practice this figure exceeds 80 million pieces.
Nowadays
During the years of perestroika, the Revdinsky brick factory did not waste its potential. On the contrary, he managed to become one of the best manufacturers of building materials of the country from a regional leader. Entering into the structure of the holding “Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company” has allowed the implementation of a number of investment projects aimed at reorganizing management and improving technological processes.
In 2001-2003, a project to diversify production was implemented. Thanks to the new automated line of the Spanish company Tensiland, the production of high-quality reinforced concrete products has begun at the Revdinsky brick factory. The manufacture of reinforced concrete products has become an important source of income along with the production of bricks and other building materials.
Products
Today, the RKZ produces a wide range of reinforced concrete products:
- Blocks of foundation series FBP and FBS in a large assortment.
- High-quality floor slabs made using formless molding technology, including especially long ones (up to 12 m).
- Jumpers.
- Road plates.
- Concrete and mortar of different grades.
However, the main products are still bricks. Revdinsky brick factory produces:

- ceramic facial;
- facial with a thickened 20 mm wall;
- with a relief surface;
- glazed;
- engobed and shotcrete bricks.

- Clinkers, corresponding to the European standards of the Westminster Klinker Hand Formatic series, with increased wear resistance and strength.
