Ilya Gorokhov was born on August 23, 1977 in Yaroslavl. Hockey became involved in the local Yaroslavl school "Locomotive". He began to join the second team of the local club quite early. Career continuation
After playing for his native club, he began to travel on various teams. Since 1999, he played one season at Torpedo (Nizhny Novgorod), Togliatti Lada, Ufa Salavat Yulaev, as well as at Atlant club. Playing for the Ufa team, Ilya was close to winning the championship for the first time. But “Salavat Yulaev” became only the bronze medalist of the championship. For a long time Gorokhov stayed only in his own club “Locomotive”.
The best years of his career were in the Moscow “Dynamo”. This defender moved there in 2011. Ilya Gorokhov, together with the Dynamo team, became the two-time winner of the Gagarin Cup. Return to Lokomotiv
In 2013, Ilya returned to Lokomotiv again. After the tragedy, the club was gaining momentum again, and the experienced defender Ilya Gorokhov really needed the team. At the end of the contract, Ilya, to the surprise of many, did not offer a new one. Ilya Gorokhov, a photo of which every Lokomotiv fan has, was forced to look for a new team. Although the head coach of the team, Kudashov and the club's fans really wanted this defender to remain in the team. But the management decided that this age-defender is no longer needed by the club. Ilya was not offended by his own team due to the fact that they refused to renew the contract with him. It is possible that he will return to Lokomotiv and will work in an administrative position. Going to Sochi
In 2016, this defender moved to a recently appeared team - HC Sochi. The contract was signed for one year. For the season, Ilya played 27 games. This team has a difficult situation. After the first round of the 2016-2017 season, Gorokhov moved to the Khabarovsk “Amur”. In February 2017, Ilya Gorokhov decided to end his career. Ilya spent his last match against his native Lokomotiv, in which he played most of his career.
