In 1989, Sedykh Anatoly Mikhailovich, together with a group of like-minded partners, decided to open his own business. They are building a workshop in the Moscow Region for the processing of scrap metal and the production of a special intermediate alloy used in the manufacture of stainless steel and ferrotitanium. The company was called "Vtormetinvest", to organize the production of Sedykh and the company took a loan of $ 1.5 million from Sberbank. In 1990, a businessman and his comrades created the trading company Tekhnoinvest, which was engaged in the supply of metal. In 1992, he registered the Metallurgical Finance and Investment Company LLP, which also engaged in metal trading. In 1993, Sedykh became the main initiator of the creation of Metallinvestbank; this project received the support of the Committee on Metallurgy of the Russian Federation. The most serious Russian metallurgical complexes acted as founders of the bank: Severstal, Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant, enterprises of Chelyabinsk, Tula. In the first 6 years of the bank's existence, Sedykh was its chairman of the board. The bank is rapidly gaining momentum. In 1997, Anatoly Mikhailovich through his bank buys the oldest Ural ferrous metallurgy enterprise - the Chusovskoy Metallurgical Plant. Now factories are private, non-public companies. Anatoly Mikhailovich continues to develop OMK. So, on his initiative, the company spent a lot of money on a project to produce thick-walled pipes that are used in gas pipelines. This allowed OMK to become the main supplier of the Nord Stream international project. In 2008, the company Sedykh built a huge factory for the production of large diameter pipes in Europe.
