Verbs
In French, there are 3 groups of verbs that differ most often by their endings, but can also completely change - change their form depending on the time in which they are used. Tip: if you can’t see and relate how the verb changes, then you need to remember it, that is, just memorize it.
The first group is the simplest in its conjugations. And today, the verbs of the first group are increasingly replaced by the verbs of the third, since their formation is much simpler and causes less confusion among the learners of this language.
- Infinitif: -er (aimer - "to love").
- Participe présent: -ant (aimant - "loving").
- Participe passé: -é (aimé - “favorite”).
The second group of verbs has the following endings:
- Infinitif: -ir (réagir - "react").
- Participe présent: -issant (réagissant - "reactive").
- Participe passé: -i (réagi - cannot be translated into the past participle form of Russian)
And finally, the third group of verbs. Unlike the first two groups, these verbs do not conjugate according to a single rule, and precisely because of this they are called irregular verbs. Consider the example of the verb vivre.
