Vladimir Fedotov - forward of the USSR national football team, forward of Moscow CSKA. The son of the legendary football player Grigory Fedotov, one of the most productive players in the history of the USSR championships, in whose honor the eponymous club was subsequently established. Its members are athletes who scored 100 or more goals in the national championship.
The future is predetermined
From a very young age, Vladimir Fedotov was sure of who he would become in the future. A big role in his sports career was played by his father, who took another 4-year-old son to train the CDAA.
Having become a little older, the young Volodya went with his father to the training camp, imbued with the atmosphere of a professional football team. As a result, even in junior school, Vladimir was recorded in the youth CSKA system. His first coach was Valery Maslov.
Faithful to one club
At 18, a promising striker was invited to CSKA by Konstantin Beskov himself. So it’s obvious: not only the famous father played a role in the player’s career, but also Vladimir Fedotov himself, who managed to establish himself in youth tournaments. It was the year 1960.
True, Beskov left the team at the end of the season, Fedotov soon consolidated his base and became one of the main strikers of CSKA and even the leader of the club.

Only three points, “CSKA” lost to the Moscow “Torpedo” and Tbilisi “Dynamo”, who became the champion. Fedotov, having scored 16 goals in 32 games, became the top scorer.
It was possible to repeat the bronze achievement for the next season. True, this time the Moscow “Torpedo” and the Kiev “Dynamo” didn’t seriously compete for a victory in the USSR championship and were tearing themselves away from their pursuers and were playing gold among themselves. As a result, it went to the "car manufacturers."
CSKA fought for third place with Minsk, Moscow and Tbilisi Dynamo and achieved success. Fedotov failed to repeat his personal record. Most of all in the championship this time scored forward by the Rostov SKA Oleg Kopaev.
Golden season

However, during the championship it was not possible to identify the winner. Capital CSKA and Dynamo, gaining 45 points, divided the first place. Therefore, to determine the champion an additional “golden” match was appointed.
However, he did not reveal the strongest game ended in a draw 0: 0. The next day, December 6, the football players again entered the field and this time issued an extravaganza extravaganza. The key role in which Vladimir Fedotov played.
20 minutes before the final whistle, Moscow “Dynamo” led in the score 3: 1. At 71 minutes, Fedotov scores a goal, and after 10 minutes he gets a penalty, which is realized by Polikarpov. 3: 3. A draw again? Probably everyone except Fedotov agreed with this. In the last minutes of the meeting, he decided on a long-range strike - the ball hit a bump right in front of the goalkeeper of the “white-blue” and was at the gate. CSKA is the champion.
In the national team
During the “gold” season for himself in 1970, Fedotov also received a call to the national team, where competition was very high in those years. He made his debut on October 28 in a friendly match with Yugoslavia. Fedotov came out in the starting lineup and in the 34th minute scored the second goal against the opponents. As a result, the USSR national team won 4-0.
November 15 of the same year Fedotov first entered the field in an official meeting. It was a qualifying match for the European Championship against the team of Cyprus. Soviet footballers confidently defeated 3: 1.
