An important role in swimming is played by the athlete’s breathing. Regardless of the state of health and physical fitness, a person is unlikely to swim a great distance without a supply of oxygen. A simple way to solve this problem is with a special breathing tube, but an adult, and even more so in a pool with such an “accessory,” will simply be laughed at. How to swim? First you need to learn how to breathe properly in water. There are a few simple exercises for this:
- Hold your breath and dip your face in water. Be calm, stay in one place. Then slowly do two strokes, during the second stroke, begin to slowly exhale air. It is necessary to end the exhalation already above the water by the end of the second stroke, raising his head. Then inhale again and repeat the exercise.
- The second exercise is most often used to teach children to swim. Inhale the air and immerse ourselves in water completely, while knees should be grabbed by hands and slowly counted to 15, then rise to the surface.
- We bend over the water so that the mouth is at the surface of the water, inhale and lower the face, slowly exhale air in the water, raise our heads and repeat the exercise.
How to swim? To swim quickly and over long distances, you need to monitor the rhythm of breathing. It should correspond to hand movements. You need to exhale the air slowly, and inhale the other way round - quickly. Remember, the slower you exhale and the less you inhale, the faster you move.
How to swim breaststroke?
The breaststroke is one of the fastest swimming methods. With the right technique, a swimmer can travel long distances quickly enough. It is amazing that with this technique a swimmer makes practically no noise, and most importantly, a person can swim both in clothes and with some kind of load, for example, a drowned person. How to swim? The swimming technique with this style can be divided into several parts, without which you won’t be able to swim correctly:
- Proper leg movements.
- Proper hand movements.
- Hand and foot coordination.
- Breath.
How to swim? To learn how to swim breaststroke, you first need to master the movement of the legs (pulling up, moving, pause). Pulling is the initial movement that helps reduce water resistance. The quality of further movements and speed depends precisely on this initial movement. The subsequent action after pulling up is movement. It must be done very energetically, since it is it that increases the swimmer's speed. And the last action is a slide, that is, a pause during which, with minimal activity and high speed, you continue to move. Then you need to master the correct movements of the hands and learn to combine them with the legs. And, of course, the most important thing is breathing. With proper breathing, learning to swim along with professionals is not at all difficult.
How to swim butterfly?
This type of swimming is the most difficult and tiring. Jimmy Higgins was the first to show this swimming style at the Olympics. Later, after the end of the games, it spread throughout the world. It is believed that swimming in this particular way contributes to weight loss, since during it a huge amount of energy is consumed, moreover, muscles are trained that, when swimming with other styles, remain at rest. That is, the health benefits are undeniable.
Trainers argue that it’s best not to use the same swimming style all the time, but to swim in different ways. This will not only strengthen the various muscles of your body, but also give the skin elasticity, help you lose weight and solve some health problems, in particular problems with the spine and other parts of the body, including joints.
