The representative of Greco-Roman wrestling Vlasov Roman Andreevich was born in 1990. He was born in Novosibirsk.

For his second Olympics, Roman managed to become a two-time world and European champion. This time he performed in the category of up to 75 kilograms in Greco-Roman wrestling. Vlasov was the leader in the world ranking and was considered an unconditional favorite.
Among the contenders for the title, Kazakh Dosjan Kartikov, the reigning Asian champion, was highly quoted. But Vlasov managed to defeat him at an early stage of the tournament.
In the final fight, he was opposed by another promising wrestler - Dane Mark Madsen. He repeatedly won medals, but he could not win in major competitions. This did not happen at the Olympics in Brazil. In Greco-Roman wrestling, Vlasov won gold for the second time.
