Vulture (Marvel Comics) is not one of the most famous comic book supervillains. Nevertheless, this article will be dedicated to this character. The nickname Vulture was worn by six villains of the Marvel universe, the most famous of them is Adrian Thoms, the eternal enemy of Spider-Man. We’ll talk about him.
How the Vulture appeared
Marvel Comics usually always gives its characters a rich biography, and our supervillain was no exception.
Adrian Thoms at an early age lost his parents and was brought up by Marcus, an older brother. Already in those years he was noticeably distinguished by his mental abilities. Having matured, Adrian chose the profession of an electronic engineer. In those same years, he invented a suit that allowed him to fly like a bird. But his partner, Bestman, stole the development and sold it. Thoms was unable to prove his rights to the invention. In a futile attempt to restore justice, he broke into Bestman's office and robbed him. This did not lead to anything, but from that moment Adrian sided with evil and took his name Vulture.
Marvel Comics (the characters created by this company are constantly confronted with villains) decided to reduce the paths of Spider-Man and Vulture when the latter traded in air piracy. Spider himself needed Vulture snapshots to win the Daily Bugle Award. Tums managed to win the first fight, and Spider-Man almost lost his life. But soon the superhero managed to develop a device that interferes with the work of the Vulture costume. In the end, Thoms was defeated and ended up in jail. We can say that it was from this moment that the eternal confrontation of the characters began.
Forces and abilities
Vulture (Marvel Comics) is not endowed with superpowers, so he uses all kinds of devices for battles with superheroes. We list the advantages that give him all kinds of gadgets:
- Levitation. Even without using his flight belt, Thoms is able to levitate, since he used the device for a very long time. But at the same time, its flight speed is greatly reduced.
- Manipulation of gravity. Using magnetic technology, the Vulture is able to lift heavy objects, such as a water tower.
- Inhuman power. The electromagnetic belt increases the strength of the Vulture several times. Using it, he can lift an object weighing up to 317 kg.
- Intelligence. Thoms is a brilliant electronic engineer and has knowledge of mechanical engineering and electronics. He created almost all of his equipment himself.
Equipment
As noted above, Vulture is not endowed with any superpower. The world of comics "Marvel" will involve a huge number of characters, but there are not so many of those whose forces depend on technology. So, let's list the equipment that makes the Vulture equal characters with superpowers:
- Wings and electromagnetic belt. With the help of these gadgets, Tums is able to rise to a height of 11 thousand feet and reach a speed of 153 km / h. An anti-gravity generator is attached to his flying suit, which allows the villain to fly into the air with the help of wings. And the electromagnetic belt increases its physical strength and increases survivability. When Thoms takes off his suit, his abilities gradually disappear.
- The Vulture uses the feathers-blades as a throwing weapon. However, their loss does not affect the flying characteristics of the suit.
- Weapons The vulture does not disdain to use conventional and energy pistols, knives, grenades and gloves with claws.
Other Vultures
As noted above, the nickname Vulture (Marvel Comics) was worn by more than one character. We list those who still owned this name:
- Raniero Drago became a Vulture, finding out from Tums a location of a spare suit while they were together in prison.
- Clifton Shallot went mad, put on a Vulture costume and used a transmutation machine. As a result, fused with a suit.
- Honcho is a former Coomarwoman of Thoms who was able to independently collect similar armor.
- James Natal became a vulture monster as a result of an experiment on creating super-soldiers. Then he became mad and began to kill everyone in a row.
This is the story of a supervillain nicknamed Vulture. The heroes of the Marvel comics are becoming more and more popular today, so perhaps this character will soon be on our movie screens.
