Childhood
Olga Podchufarova was born on the fifth of August 1992 in Moscow. Champion's parents have nothing to do with sports. Mom works as a translator and guide, and her father is engaged in computer systems. It was he who taught the daughter to cross-country skiing. Although the parents took her daughter to other classes - to the pool, to ballroom dancing - she chose biathlon.
The teachers advised to give her to the ski section, as the girl was physically very developed, and her abilities were visible to the naked eye. But driving to classes was very far away. So Olga was recorded for ballroom dancing.
Passion for sports and first victories
She studied for eight years. I even went to competitions. But Olga felt that this was not her path. Therefore, probably, and did not succeed in dancing. When Olga Podchufarova moved to ninth grade, she became interested in biathlon. The students were sent to the competition and had to go through a three-kilometer ski track.
Despite the fact that the rivals of the girl constantly went to training, Podchufarova came to the finish line first. After this victory, she asked the coach to write her in the section. So she ended up at the youth school of Moscow. Her first coach was Yuri Lelin. He trains the girl to this day.
Education
After graduating from high school, Podchufarova entered the university of public administration with a degree in management. At the same time, the athlete continues to train. The schedule is very busy, but Olga has excellent endurance and discipline. And it helps her cope with her studies and sports.
Sports career
Olga Podchufarova, whose biography is very interesting, began her sports career in 2009. And a couple of years later she already received gold and silver at the World Summer Biathlon Championships. In 2012, another 3 gold medals for sprint, relay race and pursuit were added to her prize piggy bank. This world championship was held in Ufa.
In 2013, at similar competitions, Olga Podchufarova was able to take bronze. To a higher award, she lacked only thirty seconds. 2013 was a turning point in the life of Podchufarova. From the World Championships held in Austria, Olga brought three medals - bronze, silver and gold.
Then followed the World Cup, held in Sochi. She first played for the Russian team. And earlier only in junior squads. At the World Cup, Olga took 58th place in the sprint. At the next World Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk, Podchufarova improved her previous result. She took 26th place in the pursuit. In 2014, Olga took Podchufarova at the 21st place in the sprint at the Holmenkollen competitions. Then she went to the Olympic Games in Sochi. Then she took 49th place in the individual race, and she came eleventh in competitions in Ostersund.
The next stage was even more productive. She took 4th place. To the pedestal, she did not have enough for a second and a half. Olga is considered the best biathlete. In 2016, Podchufarova was supposed to perform in Holmenkollen, at the World Cup. But after the 65th place in the sprint, it was withdrawn by the coaches from the competition.
The reason was the lack of preparation of the athlete. After being excluded from the competition, Olga announced that she would consider switching to self-preparation. And in this case, it will train separately from the Russian team.
Personal life and hobbies
Is Olga Podchufarova married? Biathlon does not leave the girl time for this. Therefore, Olga does not even plan in the near future to engage in arranging her personal life. She spends her free time at the computer, talking on social networks with friends. The athlete does not like toadies and excessive talkativeness. And prefers sincerity in communication.
