Rosehip berries are a unique natural medicine that has a pronounced cold effect. The fruits and leaves of this plant contain a rich vitamin complex: rutin (vitamin P), carotene (provitamin A), vitamins B, E, K. By the amount of vitamin C, rosehip breaks all records: its content in 100 grams of fruits is on average , 1.2 grams, which is several times more than in lemon and black currant. In addition, the rosehip contains an impressive amount of plant antioxidants - they have a powerful antibacterial effect and strengthen the immune system. These properties make rosehip berries an indispensable tool in the treatment and prevention of colds. To combat the disease, you can either brew wild rose in a thermos with whole berries, or drink tea from its leaves.
Rose hips are harvested in late summer - early autumn. They should be soft, but not overripe. Damaged and spoiled berries with dark spots are discarded. After that, the dogrose is dried: it is irrational to keep it fresh for a long time, since at the same time a significant part of vitamin C is destroyed. For the same reason, dogrose should not be dried in the sun: it is best to do this in the oven or in a special dryer for vegetables. In an extreme case, the dogrose is allowed to dry in the shade, but at the same time it will also lose a significant part of the nutrients. It is best to store dried berries in cloth bags, rather than in tightly closed jars. The maximum shelf life of dried rosehips is 2 years. During this time, it is suitable for the preparation of vitamin infusion. You can either brew a rosehip in a thermos, or fill it with cold water and bring to a boil in an enameled or heat-resistant glass dish, and then insist.
Before brewing wild rose in a thermos or in another container, it is necessary to review the berries and discard those that have been damaged - for example, moldy. After this, take 1 tbsp. l dried rose hips, rinse them and grind in a wooden (not metal!) mortar. Next, the raw material is poured in a glass of boiling water and boiled over low heat for about 10 minutes. Do not use aluminum or stainless steel cookware, since vitamin C is destroyed by contact with metal. The broth is poured into a jar and insisted for a day, then it must be filtered through two layers of gauze.
There is another way - steaming fruits in a thermos. In this case, before preparing a broth of wild rose, it is not necessary to crush its berries: the thermos holds heat for a long time and they have time to warm up properly, giving all the useful substances. In this way, the broth is prepared much faster and you can not filter it, but just pour it into a glass jar. Since you need to brew wild rose in a thermos every day (the infusion is suitable for use during the day), it is better to do this in the evening, then by morning it will be ready. If you insist rosehip in a thermos for more than 8 hours, vitamins will begin to break down.
There is another way of brewing rose hips, allowing you to make the infusion as enriched with useful substances as possible. This recipe is useful, for example, to those who want to know how to make a dog rose for a child during or after an illness, to strengthen immunity. Dried fruits are chopped, poured with boiling water and insisted for half an hour. After this, the infusion is drained, and the fruits are again filled with water and subjected to longer boiling: this will help to avoid the destruction of vitamins, but enrich the decoction with trace elements that are not afraid of the effects of high temperature. Rosehip broth is filtered and mixed with infusion.
Drink a decoction or infusion of rose hips half a glass 3-4 times a day. The norm for children is a third of a glass, 2-3 times a day. The therapeutic effect comes quickly: in addition to enriching the body with vitamins, this tool helps to eliminate toxins, so the well-being when taking it improves every day.
