Poems of the poet bewitch with its rhythm and are full of metaphorical and capacious images. The fleet and the sea were the two muses of the writer. He drew inspiration from them. Even the most routine facts and events were lyrical in his poems. The life of the poet is an example of service to his native land.
Biography
Alexey Alekseevich Lebedev was born in Suzdal in August 1912. His father was a lawyer, his mother was a teacher. Due to the fact that his father had official appointments, the family moved to Šiauliai, then to Kostroma, and in 1927 to Ivano-Voznesensk. Alexei Lebedev worked for some time as an assistant plumber. After that he went to the North, where he worked as a young man, and then as a sailor on the ships of Sevrybtrest. A few years later, the poet arrived in Ivanovo, where he entered the industrial college at the construction department.
In 1933, Alexei Lebedev joined the army, where he was sent to the Baltic Fleet. He served in Kronstadt, was admitted to the school of radio operators, then he was sent to Oranienbaum in the radio squad. In 1935 he was left on an extra urgent basis. In 36, he entered the naval school in Leningrad. During the war (Finnish-Soviet), Alexei Lebedev, as a cadet, voluntarily took part in battles with the Finns on the destroyer "Lenin"; he was an intern navigator. Poems Alexei Lebedev began to create at school. His first creations were published in the Red Baltic Fleet newspaper of the fleet. In 1939, the writer’s first book, Kronstadt, was published. This year he continued to write poetry. Alexei Lebedev was admitted to the Union of Writers of the Soviet Union. In the 40th year was published the second book of the writer - "My lyrics."
After Lebedev graduated from college, he became a diving navigator and was admitted to the fourteenth division of the training submarine crew of the Baltic Fleet. He served on the submarine "L-2".
Memory of the poet
Lebedev died with a submarine 11/15/1941. The survivors testified that at the last moment, when behind the stern someone called for help, the poet threw his sinking vest for salvation. Only 3 people survived from their team.
A monument was erected to him in Suzdal, a street was named after him in Ivanovo, and a granite bust was installed.
The war proved that poetry was not silent. Born in battles, she was unsurpassed and became a worthy assistant in battle. Many poets perished in the war. They died, and their poems are still heard, striking with their sincere purity. Among them is the beloved marine poet Lebedev.
Death of poet
According to the testimonies of those who began their literary work together with Alexei Lebedev, he aroused good feelings, a feeling of love. Everything in him was bright and pleasing: a gift and friendliness, his ease in communication. Very responsibly and consciously, the poet prepared for naval service and purposefully went to his tasks, like a torpedo. He studied well, perfectly knew English. He was also a good boxer. His main theme in the works was the meaning of his life. Before the death campaign, the poet seemed to feel his death, created a poem, which he dedicated to his wife - "Farewell."
He did not live to be thirty years old; on a cold night in November 41, the sea became his grave. The submarine, on which the poet worked as a navigator, was blown up by mines. He died at the height of his literary powers, but even those works that he wrote during his life leave him the indispensable leader of the poetry of the Navy.
