In many types of martial arts, increased attention is paid to the stalls, that is, the struggle on the floor. The most advantageous position in most cases is that fighter, which is located above - above the enemy. How to transfer the opponent to the floor and be in the most advantageous position? One of the most common ways is getting into your legs. The reception is in demand in freestyle wrestling, mixed martial arts and even rugby.
Where is better to use?
Always remember one of the main rules of MMA: "You need to box with a fighter, and fight with a boxer." Passing to the legs is a great option if you are opposed by a relatively high opponent, inclined to fight in a stance. Attention! In no case do not try to perform the technique if you are opposed by a more experienced wrestler, especially with a powerful physique. Only make worse.
Leg technique
Reception begins with a classic desk. Both fighters are approximately one step apart (outstretched arm length). Some inexperienced wrestlers tend to rush to their feet from a great distance immediately after the start of the fight. You can’t do this. If the opponent is ready, he will solve the attempt in time and will meet you with a knee to the head, a guillotine, or simply run back to a safe distance.
First you need to put down vigilance. To mask the passage to the legs, a jab to the head area is usually used. You can also use a short series. Just do not get carried away - a boxer or a representative of other hand-to-hand art can punish you with a powerful counterattack.
The task is to force the enemy to raise their hands for defense. Everything, you can start the main reception! Bend your legs halfway, sharply move forward, grasp the opponent’s knee or thigh with one hand, and the other’s lower back. You can also grab onto both legs or one leg with both hands.
Now “ram” the body with your shoulder and pull your leg towards you. At the same time, try not to fall on your opponent (you can hurt yourself), but gently go to your knees, which will make it possible to continue fighting or hold a round-end-pound.
Common Mistakes in Legs
Remember that this is a passage, not a jump or fall. The main strength to your body should be given by the legs. Do not tilt the housing forward. When passing into the legs, it is not recommended to grab the opponent above the knees and below the waist - it is so difficult to deprive a person of balance. It is not necessary to keep too low either - there is a great risk of getting a knee in the forehead. In addition, do not take your hands into the castle behind the feet of the enemy - inaccurate movement will lead to problems with the hands.
