Novosibirsk is the center of the Siberian district. The city ranks 13th in size in the ranking of Russian cities. Novosibirsk is the cultural and industrial center of the district, with many parks, squares and ale. One of the oldest natural oases is Narymsky Square in Novosibirsk, whose address is 93 Chelyuskintsev Street. The park zone belongs to the Zheleznodorozhny district.
How to get there
You can walk to the square on the streets of Gogol, Narymskaya and 1905. If you take the subway, you can get off at the Sibirskaya or Krasny Prospekt stations, from which you will only have to walk a few minutes. For residents of the Zheleznodorozhny district microdistricts, this is practically the only opportunity to merge with nature and relax.
History
Many residents of the city are fully confident that the square is divided into the territory of the former cemetery. In fact, Narymsky Square in Novosibirsk was built on the former site of residential private houses, which were adjoined by a small forest. By the way, in 1913, at the intersection of Trukhanovskaya and Obdorskaya streets, the Church of the Ascension of the Lord was built. Around 1925, all private buildings were demolished, and for reasons that history is silent about, nothing was built on this site. Nothing was erected even in the 30s of the last century, when the notorious Stalinist building was carried out. The church and the forest did not affect the reforms. A little later, the forest decided to ennoble and create a park area.

In the 70s of the last century, the territory of the square was slightly curtailed due to the construction of the city circus. At the same time, the city authorities tried to give another part of the square for the construction of a hotel complex. However, under the pressure of public activists, the foundation pit was buried under the foundation.
The square got its name because of the adjoining once quiet street of Narymskaya.
Memorials and sculptural compositions
To date, Narymsky Square in Novosibirsk is conditionally divided into 4 zones:
- memorial;
- territory under the rides and playgrounds;
- walking;
- tennis court.
In general, the park area occupies 7 hectares.
Memorial to the victims of repression
Until the beginning of this century, there was only one memorial to the victims of political repression in the square. The memorial is a stone that was brought from the quarries of the village of Lozhok, Iskitim district. It was here that political prisoners worked. At the initiative of L. Coward, chairman of the Memorial society, marble was brought into the Narymsky square in Novosibirsk, which was chosen by the inmates of the Siblag penalty department themselves.
The memorial was officially opened in 2003 on October 30 on the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repressions. The stone is mounted on a rotunda 4.5 meters high.
Saints and missions Peter and Fevronia of Murom
Prince Peter and Princess Fevronia of Murom are a symbol of the most faithful family ties. In the framework of the federal program “In the Circle of the Family”, a monument to this couple in 2004 was erected in Narymsky Square in Novosibirsk.
If anyone does not know, then this couple gained the title of saints under the following circumstances. Peter, after an unequal battle with the snake, received multiple wounds that did not heal, but gradually turned into ulcers. An ordinary peasant woman named Fevronia was able to save the prince from death. Prince Peter was so grateful to the girl that he married her. The couple lived all their lives together and died on the same day. For such a clean and faithful relationship, both spouses were counted as saints.
By the way, the square was chosen for a reason. It is in the Ascension Cathedral that the relics of saints are stored. The monument was unveiled in May 2012.
Monument to victims of the victims of nuclear and radiation disasters
Such a commemorative sign appeared in Novosibirsk not in vain, because this city is the largest center of the nuclear industry. It is clear that the troubles did not pass by the inhabitants of the city. According to the most conservative estimates, 1750 residents of the city were injured in the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. By the tenth anniversary of the tragedy in 1996, a monument was erected for budgetary funds.
DNA helix
Many events are held in the Narymsky square of Novosibirsk. In memory of the festival of sculptures, the composition “DNA Molecule” settled in the park area. The competition was held in 2008, then the competitive work remained in the park.
What else to do in the park
In the park area you can just walk, sit on cozy benches. You can feed the squirrels, which are almost tame here and practically beg for refreshments from vacationers. There are many attractions and playgrounds for children on the territory.
For lovers of a healthy lifestyle, running, cycling and roller skating are not only available. Near the cafe “Through the Looking Glass” you can play tennis in the Narymsky square of Novosibirsk. The court area is impressive with 3 three playgrounds. In the morning, children's classes are held here. In the evening and after dinner, adults play. Prices are affordable when compared with other paid courts. Back in 2011, the courts were in terrible condition, but in 2012, at the expense of budgetary funds, they reconstructed in the shortest possible time.
Narymsky square is a great opportunity to spend time with family and friends without leaving the city. Near the park area shopping centers and circus.
