They say that a good drink made in accordance with all the rules has its own soul. Probably these are the Famos Graus whiskey (which is translated from English as “The famous partridge”). This is one of the most famous brands in the world, which is produced at the Scottish distillery "Glenturret".
History of Famos Graus whiskey
The shopkeeper and vintner, Matthew, from the city of Perth in Scotland, founded his own company back in 1800. She was engaged in the purchase of whiskey from small factories throughout Scotland. And already in 1842, the company Matthew Gloeg and Son was allowed to supply wine products for the royal court. In 1860, the founder’s son William began to produce his own blending whiskey. The Graus brand was created later - in 1896. It got its name in honor of the famous game of Scotland. Interestingly, the label for the drink was hand-painted by the daughter of the famous nephew of Matthew Gloag. So, “Famos graus” whiskey began its journey around the world (the brand itself was registered a little later, in 1905).
Modernity
In 1970, the famous brand was bought back. The Highland Distillers campaign has become the full owner of the brand and at the same time one of the leading manufacturers of the noble drink. Since 1980, this Famos Grouse whiskey has taken a leading position and is not inferior to its superiority to this day. For example, in 2006, more than three million boxes were sold worldwide. And the brand is the only one that is now delivered to the Queen’s court.
