The Suzunskoye oil and gas field at the same time as Lodochny, Tagulsky and Vankorskoye belongs to the Vankor block. Its location is Krasnoyarsk Territory. According to the geological classification, it is assigned to the Bolshekhetsky district of the West Siberian oil province.
Field history
This oil vein was discovered in 1972. To date, its reserves are estimated at 56 million tons. Of the three nearby deposits, Suzunskoye is the smallest. Lodochny’s reserves are estimated at 60 million tons, Tagulsky’s reserves - at 286 million tons. All these places for the development of Rosneft belong to. Previously, the owners of the Suzunskoye field were oil and gas companies TNK BP and Slavneft. Oil on an industrial scale currently pumps only on the main - Vankorsky. The latter for the excellent quality of the extracted "black gold" is called "Russian Kuwait." The first of the three fields located next to it, the management of Rosneft decided to develop the Suzunskoye. The company acquired a license for oil production in this area from TNK BP in 2013. Until 2004, the field was owned by Slavneft.
Since 2007, work has been underway at the Suzunskoye field to implement a pilot development program. Experts study the structure of the oil layer and explore deeper deposits. Based on the data they collected, a project will be developed for the full use of the field. In the fall of 2008, when the latter belonged to TNK BP, about one and a half thousand barrels of gushing oil were produced here. A little later, another well was drilled, the debit of which amounted to 280 thousand tons per day.
Prospects
In 2013, the design of field improvement facilities was completed. Its infrastructure was developed by the Giprovostokneft Institute (Samara). Full-scale development at the Suzunskoye field is expected to begin in 2017. At least, TNK BP had such plans before the sale of the license. Perhaps the new owner will postpone these dates. To date, installations for the preparation of oil are being installed at the field, electrical facilities are being assembled, roads are being laid. Also, Rosneft, as well as third-party companies, are engaged in the construction of household and social facilities.
The Suzunskoye field will be developed in conjunction with the already existing Vankorskoye field. According to the management of Rosneft, this will minimize costs, increase productivity and at the same time reduce the negative impact on the environment of the region. According to the project, 8 exploratory wells, including 3 horizontal ones, will be drilled at the Suzunskoye field. The Taimyrnefterazvedka company was selected as the contractor for this work.
Oil pipeline "Yamal"
Of course, Rosneft, among other things, had to find ways to transport oil from the Suzunskoye field. It will be pumped through the new Yamal pipeline, connecting Suzun with the Zapolyarnoye pipeline. The latter was built in 2013-2015. Its total length was 374 km. Oil from other fields of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug will be transported through the same pipeline. Acceptance point is organized in Zapolyarny PSP. Rosneft management has appointed CJSC Vankorneft (Krasnoyarsk) as operator for development projects for all three fields, the Suzunsky, Lodochny and Tagulsky. This company was also entrusted with the construction of a 150 MW hydroelectric power station to provide new facilities with electricity.
Field Characteristics
The geological feature of the Suzunskoye field is the presence of a sandy composition belonging to two types of Lower Cretaceous sediments: Yakovlevsky (Middle Alyub suite) and Lower Khetian (Lower Valanginian suite). In the roofing part of the Dolgan Formation there are large gas accumulations. However, they are not industrial. According to the results of the research, the oil of the Suzunskoye field itself is recognized as very high-quality and light. The development of oil and gas fields in the Vankorsky area is considered promising. This block is the second largest reserves of Rosneft. And of course, the company will invest in it until the maximum profit.
Vankor field
To date, all the equipment necessary for mining has been delivered to the Suzunskoye deposit and work on piling has been almost completed. At the same time, production drilling is underway. In 2014, Rosneft began construction of an interfield oil pipeline between the Suzunskoye and Vankorskoye fields. The latter has been under development since 2009. Today, the Vankor cluster, which will include the Suzunskoye field, consists of 23 licensed sites. Some of them are located in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, part - in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. According to the constructed inter-field highway, Suzun oil will be delivered to the receiving point of the Vankor production site. Further along the Vankor - Purpe line, it will be sent to the country's oil pipeline system.
Working conditions
Like Vankorskoye, the Suzunskoye deposit is located beyond the Arctic Circle in the permafrost region. And therefore, the working conditions here are very difficult. To date, the construction of a camp for workers at the Surgut field is nearing completion. In addition, other work is underway aimed at creating favorable conditions for the work of oil workers.
Weather (Suzunskoye deposit (Krasnoyarsk Territory), as already mentioned, is beyond the Arctic Circle) people working here are clearly not pampered. In winter, the air temperature in this area can drop to -60 gr, in summer - rise to 30 gr. Workers hired to build Suzun’s infrastructure facilities must first get to the place by helicopter, and then by car for almost a day. People who want to earn extra money often ask a question in a search engine: “Suzunskoye field - where is it located?”. It is located on the border of Evenki and Taimyr districts. The town of Igarka, closest to the Vankor and Suzun deposits, is 142 km away. A little further and north is Norilsk. There are no settlements in the immediate vicinity of the field. Unfortunately, there are not only positive reviews on the network about working conditions at this field. Third-party shift companies often do not provide workers with proper conditions, and sometimes they do not even care about observing basic safety precautions. Judging by the reviews, people have to live in poorly insulated trailers, they don’t change bed linen, they feed hearty, but monotonously.
Living conditions at the Suzunskoye field are therefore not very good. In some cases, workers do not even receive felt boots and mittens, which in the conditions of the Arctic, of course, is unacceptable. The shift companies pay 60-80 thousand rubles for hard work. According to the workers, the attitude of the management on them also leaves much to be desired.
But, perhaps, after the completion of the construction of the town, and the commissioning of the field into operation, the working conditions here will become quite tolerable, as, for example, at Vankorneft (Krasnoyarsk). In the meantime, the situation on the site, judging by the reviews, is actually not very good.
