Many people who have at least minimal relevance to the culture of the Internet, online computer games, social networks, or simply sometimes communicating with young people living in this context, at least once heard the word “aggro”. Like many slang expressions, often incomprehensible to those who are not included in a particular cultural layer, this is no exception. In this article, we will try to figure out together what the word "agri" means.
Etymology
In order to nevertheless understand what “agrit” is, first you need to consider the etymology - the origin of the linguistic phenomenon. Those who know English can easily find echoes of the English “angry” in the Russian word “agrify”. Having gone through the process of simplifying consonant groups (from “engraving”) and turning into a verb in our language, the word combines the characteristics of an action (or, more precisely, a change in state) and the property of irritation, anger, emotional instability.
Values
And yet: what is "agri"? The main value that we can confidently single out is angry (1). Agri in this meaning can be constantly, but it is possible in a particular situation.
So, a new connotation of the word gradually arises, namely, to get annoyed (2). However, despite the fact that the word “annoyed” is used with the control of “who / what?”, When we use the word “agitate”, we use a different control: “who / what?”.
Once in the midst of computer games, slang expression also acquires new semantics - to attack (3). And, however, having angered the enemy, it is not difficult to provoke aggression and, therefore, provoke a battle.
Grammatical and stylistic characteristics
This verb, which has become Russian, has also adopted verb characteristics characteristic of the words of the Russian language. For example, we attribute this verb to such groups as intransitive, reflexive, imperfect form.
It is also necessary to keep in mind the fact that you can not use this word in any situation. Being relatively new in the Russian language, it has not yet lost its expressive coloring and can still be incomprehensible to many people. It is definitely not literary, but colloquial, in some circles it can be considered vernacular. Often acquires a playful connotation, used in memes (often in memes with the so-called evil schoolchild). And, of course, is jargon.
Examples
Here are examples of the use of each of the values in the corresponding order:

- My colleague did not submit a report on his work on time and when he was called to the director, the whole office heard that the director was agitating, screaming and even calling names.
