Voronezh region is a rather large region for the European part of Russia. Some parts of this subject of the federation are significantly removed from the center, which leads to the appearance of some special color. We will deal with Cantemirovka and its features.
General information
Kantemirovka of the Voronezh region is an urban-type settlement, which is the center of one of the southern regional regions. It is located on the very border with Ukraine and represents the deep edge of the region.
In Soviet times, this area was exclusively agricultural and developed thanks to the existing collective farms, the legacy of which is still used by Russian farmers. There was production in the area, but during the formation of a market economy, all of them went bankrupt and safely closed.
Today, the regionβs economy is being pushed forward by small enterprises in the form of a plant for construction materials, soft drinks, as well as several companies representing the services sector.

How to get there
Previously, a large railway junction Voronezh-Lugansk passed through the district center. With the aggravation of relations between neighboring states, it was decided to build new ways, bypassing Ukrainian territory. Since then, the line in Kantemirovka of the Voronezh region has gradually begun to die. In 2017, trains from Voronezh were a rarity, now it is almost impossible to buy tickets. Perhaps this section of the railway was finally closed (it was planned to stop operation in 2018).
Regular buses from the central bus station go to Kantemirovka of the Voronezh region. Departure takes place twice a day (8.45 and 14.45). It is better to check the operational information before a trip or buying tickets.

By your own car you can get a little more than 3 hours. The road will be of high quality, but not the easiest. Every few kilometers there are cameras for monitoring compliance with the speed limit, so it will not be possible to accelerate.
If you go through a search service for travel companions, you can save time and money. The average cost of a trip from Voronezh to Kantemirovka is 450 rubles. Thus, you save 200 rubles and 3 hours of valuable time. Of course, this event is not for everyone, but for experienced travelers a ride is an ideal way to travel.
What to see
Kantemirovka of the Voronezh region is a typical provincial city. It is impossible to find something outstanding here, but you can find a list of attractions that are characteristic of almost every Russian settlement.
There are:
- square of V.I. Lenin;
- a stele monument in honor of the victory in the Great Patriotic War;
- monument to the T-34 tank;
- the Kantemirovsky Breakthrough memorial dedicated to the Second World War military operation;
- open-air museum, founded by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation;
- Orthodox churches built in the distant 1960s;
- a monument to the T-74 tractor, erected as a token of gratitude for the work of collective farmers who gave many years of their lives for the welfare of the region.
Cantemation is an excellent recreational area. Here you can find an old pond with a beach, as well as wander along eco-trails that are not popular with locals.
In addition, a little old architecture (three buildings) has been preserved here. Photo of the Cantemation of the Voronezh region in 99 cases out of 100 - this is an image of the station, miraculously preserved from the XVIII century. The volost government and the vocational school built in the middle of the XIX century were also preserved.
In general, this is an ordinary provincial town. Young people are leaving here, and the lack of large business deprives the region of serious investment. What will happen to him next? This we have yet to see.
