Perhaps few have tried to classify what fears are. But really, let's think about it?
There is a fear of loneliness, fear of not coping with a difficult situation, fear of losing a loved one, fear of becoming ill with an incurable disease such as oncology (now this phobia is coming to the fore) and so on. But one of the most powerful effects is the fear of death.
Yes, of course, the fear of death is familiar to anyone who knows about the mortality of man, about a single end for all human existence. No matter how smart and rich you are, and there is only one final, they will bury everyone in the ground.
And when we think about it, we feel how horror squeezes us in its claws.
How to conquer your fear? If death cannot be defeated, then how can we at least make sure that it does not poison life with its existence?
The unknown - it is she who fuels this fear. And what will happen next? Will there be anything? And if changes happen, what will they be?
No one can answer this question. More precisely, there are many versions, which further aggravates the situation. Someone talks about hell and paradise, others rely on the reincarnation and relocation of souls, others generally believe that there is nothing there. But this is not easier. Fear of death still permeates the human being.
People try to fence themselves off from death - they give it special places: morgues, hospitals, cemeteries. Yes, and they try to hide away, hide behind fences or gates. Or even put away from the eyes. As you know, cemeteries were never built in the city, but always in the distance. It is now, the cities have grown and many cemeteries are located in the city. But the more we try to escape from death, to hide it in the depths of the subconscious, the more fear of death overcomes us.
As psychologists advise, there is no need to "run away" from death. Death is naturally woven into the cycle of human existence, and it is possible to overcome fear only when it is possible to acknowledge and accept the fact that someday we will die. All. No one will live forever. Therefore, you need to look at the world with different eyes: to do what will help other people, which will be eternal, to sow good, and not to live only by receiving pleasures and momentary joys.
Some fall into other extremes: they demonstrate their neglect of death, flaunt and try to laugh at it. This explains the abundance of the so-called "black humor". And the process of death itself is awarded with unflattering epithets, like, "give oak", "drop hooves" and so on. But here we see nothing more than the usual way, with the help of irony, to suppress the fear of death. It does not bring relief.
If you are a believer, then accepting the inevitability is much easier, because the Bible says that death has no power over those who trust in God and Jesus Christ has risen from the dead. This greatly facilitates human existence, eliminates the fear of death, and that is why, despite the development of science and technological progress, the number of believers does not decrease, but only grows.
Any religion: Islam, Christianity, Buddhism - absolutely any - suggests that a person is immortal and with the destruction of the physical shell the thread of existence does not break. Therefore, it brings relief to people. But if a person is an atheist, then it is more difficult to cope with the fear of death. Such people have a special psychology, they can often be cynics, since this, as mentioned above, is a protective reaction of the body. Or atheists are completely immersed in the material world, because they are sure that this is what their human existence is limited to.
As you can see, today, only religion can argue that death is not the end. Science has not yet given a final and intelligible answer, what is behind the threshold of being and how to overcome the fear of death.
