Origin history
Beer "Barley ear" hails from the country of the Soviets. This drink is of metropolitan origin. He appeared in Moscow in the late 70s. But in the early 90s, along with the collapse of the Soviet Union, beer production was discontinued. Its revival began 10 years later, in Krasnodar, when enthusiasts of the local brewery decided to give a forgotten brand a second life. In the southern province, beer gained unexpected success and soon a decision was made to revive its capital production.
Six months it took to adapt the original Soviet recipe to modern equipment.
In 2002, in Moscow, at the Ochakovo brewery, they again began to produce Barley Ear.
Is the old brand forgotten?
After conducting research and studying the demand of domestic consumers, manufacturers relied on an almost forgotten Soviet brand. And they were not mistaken. Already at the beginning of 2002, 18% of consumers remembered the taste of beer. For comparison: about the same number of people recognize Red Bull or Corona.
Having allocated one and a half million dollars for the “Barley Ear” advertising campaign (this is an approximate part of the five million allocated for the general beer advertising campaign), the producer expected that 20% of the total beer produced would come from the newly revived product. Barley Ear beer met expectations. And soon, Belgorod and Penza branches appeared at the Ochakovo plant.
