To support the wires, as well as in the framework of lightning protection measures, such structures as power transmission towers, located at equal distance from the earth's surface and from each other, are being erected.
There are many different types of support for Power lines , lined up depending on the particular terrain and the technical parameters of the electrical network.
Power transmission towers are classified by the following aspects:
- appointment;
- fixing technique;
- design;
- number of chains;
- voltage;
- basis for manufacturing.
At the same time, the most popular type of power line poles are standing reinforced concrete poles, which are installed directly in the ground. Such, for example, as Bearings CB 95-3 .
By appointment
- intermediate, used exclusively for maintaining wires and not adapted for heavy loads;
- angular, taking on the load of the tension of the wires when turning the power line;
- anchor, used to carry wires through certain obstacles, characterized by a rigid structure and capable of withstanding even large loads;
- terminal, ending power lines and taking on all unilateral loads;
- special, used to resolve various non-standard situations, for example, the need for branch output.
According to the method of consolidation
- soil;
- wide-basement (foundation from 4 sq. m.);
- narrowly fundamental.
By design
- free-standing, which, in turn, are divided into supports single-column and multi-column;
- lingering;
- cable-stayed supports related to emergency storage.
Chain Support
- one chain;
- two chains;
- multi-chain.
Voltage
Voltage supports are divided into many different lines and, the greater the voltage passing through a particular power line, the more powerful, thicker and higher the support will take on this load.
An increase in the size of the supports occurs to obtain the necessary distances from the wire to the ground, established in accordance with the regulations of the PUE.
Based on the manufacture
- reinforced concrete supports based on concrete reinforced with metal. They are very resistant to physical factors, that is, dampness, corrosion and ultraviolet radiation, however, are extremely heavy.
- lightweight steel supports treated with zinc or special paint to prevent corrosion;
- wooden supports made of round logs. Easy to manufacture, but unstable to physical factors.
