It seems to many that the profession of a security guard is not a profession at all, but a side job “just in case”. However, it is not. And the training, as well as the qualifications of a security guard who seems to be busy with nothing, are of great importance.
First of all, it should be noted that the guards have categories that are assigned during recertification. The most common category in the qualification of a guard is the fourth.
In order to obtain a certificate with the 4th category marked in it, you must undergo special training lasting at least 80 hours and pass a qualification exam.
Obtaining a certificate can occur in two ways - through the Ministry of Internal Affairs or through a private security company (private security company).
Prohibition of activities
The following categories of citizens are not accepted for service in a security company or for training for the 4th category of security guard:
- minors;
- convicted;
- incompetent;
- having a charge of crime (until the issue is resolved);
- not trained;
- dismissed by the court from serious posts in the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs or any branch of government;
- civil servants whose powers naturally ceased.
Why take training
Most often, many have questions regarding the need for training and a further exam for the 4th grade guard. Why is this needed? Why is 4th category the most popular?
This and two subsequent categories give the right to those who have a mark in the official certificate to use weapons and special means of protection or defense. During the exam, students are tested not only the basic knowledge of the theory on the material passed, but also the practical skills of handling weapons and special equipment.
In addition, exam tickets of a guard of 4 category contain questions on the current legislation. As part of the testing, it is necessary to find out how much a citizen is ready to fulfill the duties of a security guard and apply laws in the process of his activities.
It must be remembered that qualification in category 4 involves the use of only a rubber baton (in extreme cases) or handcuffs, so the questions for the exam in categories are similar, and the answers are different. It is necessary to answer by virtue of these powers on the use of special equipment.

Dealers often note that there are a lot of ridiculous questions in the exam, for example, such as: "At what temperature will the handcuffs work with factory efficiency?"

Legal training
The first block, which contains tickets of the 4th category of the guard, includes legal issues that relate specifically to the activities of the guard in terms of his powers to ensure the safety of the facility and the people around it.
There are a lot of questions, they all relate to certain regulatory legal acts that are relevant in the activities of the security guard. These include, for example, the Law on Private Detective and Security Activities, which provides for the main points of functioning of structures similar to the principle of law enforcement agencies. However, private detectives and security guards are not legally empowered to the extent that police officers have them.
Unlike police officers, a guard has no right to search a suspect - he can only detain him.

- who can fulfill the duties of a security guard (can foreign citizens, persons under the age of 18 or convicted, etc.);
- what means can the guard use (during a detour, during detention, in case of danger, etc.);
- in what ways the guard has the right to neutralize the violator and what security measures he can apply by law;
- Does the guard have the right to let representatives of law enforcement agencies into the protected facility, etc.
Tactical training
In the next block, it is necessary to study issues that are related to tactical and special training. Examination of a security guard of the 4th category provides for such a test without fail, since the security guard needs to know exactly how to act in a particular situation.

- in which cases you can deviate from the instructions and let visitors into the guarded object at night, etc.

Examination of a security guard of the 4th category includes these questions for the reason that, in the real development of the event, the security guard already knows exactly how to act, and not be confused in a difficult situation.
Technical training. What you need to know
The next set of questions relates to technical training. This type of training in practice means studying the technical properties of equipment and devices that will be used when the work is done. The guard 4 category should know how it works and what is the name of each of the devices.
In addition, the transmitted information in messages is often secret, so the security guard needs to know how to communicate via radio communication with other security guards in the facility so that the information does not become available to third parties.
Block Questions
- which of the given dialogs is correct (examples are given: “Volga, Volga, I am Oka. / This is Volga. What happened? / The General has arrived. / I understand you. I'm going to open” and others);
- which sirens are used in fire alarms;
- how a signal is transmitted in fire alarm systems;
- what prohibition is provided for by radio messaging;
- actions of the security guard when transmitting a message over a radio channel, etc.
Examination tickets of a security guard of the 4th category do not accidentally include these questions - the security guard must know this information thoroughly.
The medicine
Another set of questions is aimed at checking medical knowledge regarding first aid to the victim. A security guard working at the facility may encounter not only normal functions, but also emergency situations in everyday work.
Sample list of questions:
- how to provide first aid to a person who has severe bleeding;
- what needs to be done if there is a foreign object in the airways;
- how to help the victim if he has a chest wound;
- how to properly apply the tire in case of damage (lower leg, forearm, thigh, shoulder, etc.);
- how to assist with thermal or chemical burns, etc.
Special equipment
And the last block of theoretical questions that make up tickets for the 4th category of a security guard includes information on the use of special protective equipment. These include bulletproof vests, bulletproof helmets, handcuffs and rubber sticks of various modifications.
The list of questions (approximate and incomplete):
- which rubber stick is telescopic;
- at what optimum ambient temperature can handcuffs be used;
- in which model of the handcuffs is the connecting chain used;
- what applies to additional elements of armor protection, etc.
Thus, all of the listed questions (an approximate list) reveal the knowledge and skills of the guard in theory. A private guard of 4 category should know all the answers to them and be able to apply knowledge while performing their functional duties.
Practice
In order to test practical skills, a special workshop consisting of several exercises is used.
Exercise 1 - the test subject is in front of a table on which lie 2 helmets (grades 1 and 3). For 20 seconds, the guard must put a helmet on the mannequin and report on it.
Exercise 2 - the subject stands in front of a table on which there are 2 body armor (classes 1 and 5). In 20 seconds he should put on a bulletproof vest and report on it.
Exercise 3 - the test is located opposite the dummy at a distance of 1.5 meters. In 20 seconds, on command, he must inflict at least 6 blows on the allowed areas (on the mannequin) with a rubber stick, which is initially in the case.
Exercise 4 - the guard is at a distance of 1.5 meters from the mannequin. On command, he must take out their handcuffs and put on a mannequin (front or back - depending on the task) for 20 seconds.
Practical exercises show how correctly studied the block of information necessary to obtain the category "4 category guard", in theory and in practice.
Testing
In order to pass the exam with honor and receive a certificate of passing the examination testing and practice for the 4th category, it is necessary to correctly answer only 7 questions, while 2 errors are allowed. If the exam is not passed - it can be retaken. There are a few more questions for the following categories of errors; errors are practically unacceptable.
The guard test of 4 categories is a sample of all the above blocks. However, it is not worth hoping that you are lucky, since the probability of "getting" into those few questions that have been studied is practically zero.
It is also necessary to remember that there are times when the life and safety of people depend on the correct and confident actions of the guard.
A citizen who has passed the 4th grade guard test is required to undergo certification once every five years, unless he claims to be upgrading to the 5th or 6th category.
Shift method of work
An employee (private security guard), who has a certificate of 4 categories, can work almost anywhere where this type of activity is required. Most often, the protection of objects is necessary in places where it is impossible to organize automated protection for technical reasons, or it is available, but partially. That is why a guard of 4 categories is involved in work in this area.
A shift involves staying at a specific place in the time specified by the employment contract, followed by weekends. For example, 15/15 - 15 days of workers, 15 - days off. Or another, more convenient option, agreed with the employee.
The higher the rank of a guard, the more he is in demand in the labor market. A 4-level guard in Moscow is required both for work in the city and the region, and in nearby cities. At the same time, employers require not only the availability of a valid private guard document with a discharge, but also the availability of experience.
License
Often the certificate, which confirms the 4th category of the guard, is called a license. A security guard license is issued with a certificate of completion and represents the right to engage in private security activities.
It must be remembered that a security guard who is not in the service of a security company does not have the right to engage in this type of activity.
Licensing of security guards is carried out in a specialized department of law enforcement agencies (in the same place where a license for weapons is issued ). Obtaining such a document is associated with some expenses for a medical examination (with a mandatory mark of a narcologist and psychiatrist) and the need to pay a state fee of about 1200 rubles.
It is in this department that the inspector will send a citizen to study (he will provide information on the list of educational institutions that conduct educational activities in this direction).
