Parsing

Parsing a sentence, be it simple or complex, is usually not an easy task when analyzing a text. Parsing is a grammatical characteristic of syntactic units, namely phrases, simple and complex sentences.

Parsing collocations

First, select the phrase from the text, and secondly, in the highlighted phrase, determine the main and dependent word, find out the way of syntactic communication and do not forget to indicate through which parts of the speech the main and dependent words are expressed. Third, indicate the grammatical meaning of the phrase.

Parsing Members

Analysis of the syntactic structure by members requires extensive knowledge of the Russian language and attentiveness. In order to perform a parsing without errors, it is advisable to follow the plan below:

1. First determine the type of offer. Establish whether it is simple or complex.

2. Look at the structure of the sentence: it is one-part or two-part. One-part constructions are often confused with incomplete two-part constructions. In one-component sentences, the subject is usually absent, in the incomplete two-part, any main member may be absent. In addition, in the text, the subject can be distinguished from the subordinate clause, or some other related in meaning to the one-part.

3. Then indicate prevalence or non-prevalence.

4. Note whether this sentence is complicated: introductory words, homogeneous members, appeals, etc.

5. Perform a breakdown of the sentence members, explain what parts of the speech the words are expressed.

6. Determine how punctuation marks are placed. Provided that homogeneous members are present in the sentence, it is necessary to determine their part of speech and what word they refer to, as well as how they are related in the sentence.

7. If the proposal contains separate members, then it is necessary to find out through which member of the proposal a separate turnover is expressed, and then analyze its structure.

8. Be sure to indicate whether there is direct speech in the proposal.

Parsing a complex sentence

First, determine what type of compound sentence is: compound, compound, or unionless.

Parsing a compound sentence

Determine the type of offer. For simple sentences contained in a complex, highlight the grammatical basis. Indicate by which alliances simple sentences are connected into complex. Explain how punctuation is placed. Review simple sentences.

Parsing a complex sentence

Determine the type of proposal, highlight the simple components. Find out which of the sentences is important and which is the subordinate clause. Show how the punctuation marks are in the sentence. Review simple sentences.

Parsing a unionless sentence

First you need to determine the type of offer. Then select the subject and predicate in each of the sentences. Find out the number of simple sentences in the complex and the relationship between them. Explain how the punctuation marks are in the sentence.

Parsing a complex sentence with different types of communication

Find out the type of offer. Define the grammatical basis of simple components. Explain how sentences are organized in a complex way, how punctuation is placed. Parse by members.

Our great Russian language is not only rich and beautiful, but also complex, so you need to study it for a long time and hard! The above material will help to understand the structure of the analyzed text and teach you to write stylistically correctly.
