Moscow abandoned buildings - overview, features and reviews

The capital of Russia is rapidly rebuilding, high-rises appear, among which for some reason there are abandoned buildings. But many of them have a grandiose appearance, and some have a huge number of areas reaching up to 100 thousand square meters. Now such structures most often become a haven for people who have lost their homes, photographers and writers come here.

Visiting Rules

First of all, it is better to refuse to visit the abandoned buildings of Moscow at night. During the day, there is less chance of meeting street children and people with no fixed abode at such facilities; dogs. Visibility during the day is better, and abandoned objects are a huge risk, since there are many parts that can be injured or injured. These are holes in the floor, bare wires, fittings sticking out of the walls.

If possible, it is better to find a guide - a person who knows the emergency building and even tells the story of the visited facility.

Grandiose constructions of the city

One of the most famous abandoned buildings in Moscow is the Zenit business center. People call it differently: "Blue tooth", "Ice", and all because of the extraordinary shape and cladding of blue glass. The object is located on Vernadsky Avenue, 82 (metro station "South-West"). This building has 22 floors, the total area is 100 thousand square meters. It is under guard, but fully painted by the riders. Inside the building, it is quite dangerous, since there were open elevator shafts and a lot of sticking out reinforcement, the construction was abandoned in the 90s.

Water park "Aquadrom" (metro "Kuznetskaya"). The construction of the facility was stopped in 2000. At that time there was not enough money, although most were already erected. The water park is very dangerous and there are several accidents recorded, but visitors from this no less. Gradually demolish the building.

Abandoned industrial facility - plant them. Likhachev (Avtozavodskaya street, 23, metro station "Tulskaya"). From here for many years ZIS-5 cars came out. The Moscow government plans to restore the plant, but so far the remaining valuable items are only being plundered.

Where to hold a photo shoot

There are abandoned buildings for photo shoots in Moscow , and, above all, this is the temple of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. It is located in the village of Yaropolets (Volokamsky district). It was built by Count Chernyshev on his own project, and it even functioned until 1966, and now it just stands and collapses. You can enter the territory without any problems.

Another interesting estate is located in the Dmitrovsky district called Olgovo. The territory was partially redeemed by private individuals, in another part there were palace ruins, a park in good condition and several ponds. They say that on the estate you can meet the ghost of the Queen of Spades.

Creepy and dangerous places

The abandoned hospital building in Moscow on Klinsky Street truly terrifies the local population and visitors. This is the Khovrinsky hospital, the construction of which began in 1980, but for unknown reasons was discontinued after 5 years. The main building of the hospice has the shape of a cross, and along the edges of the branch, very reminiscent of the Umbrella logo from the computer game Resident Evil.

It is still considered dangerous to visit the VIEV laboratory at 8. Topolevaya Alley Street. Here, even before 1918, experiments were conducted on animals, anthrax and the effects of radiation on living organisms were studied. Therefore, near the laboratory building there is a burial ground where animals are buried to a depth of 3 meters, and they pose a real danger to the environment and people.

The Hadron Collider “Accelerator”, located in the urban district of Protvino, is still considered the most terrible abandoned place in Moscow. They began to build this building in the 80s of the last century, but already in the 90s they were mothballed. This is a whole ring tunnel with a total length of 21 kilometers. There is a tunnel at a depth of 60 meters. Before its conservation, they even managed to partially get equipment there. To this day, emergency lighting is operating in the tunnel, air is being pumped. Even recently, the Kurchatov Institute expressed a desire to continue construction and research, but so far nothing is known. The object is under protection, but still very eager to see the miracle of technical thought of the last century, they fall on the object, although they often encounter a number of problems.

Unnecessary movie theaters

There are about 20 abandoned buildings in Moscow, where it was once planned to show a movie, in almost every sleeping area. They were erected all at about the same time from the 60s to the 70s of the last century. Until 2011, there were still attempts to revive them, but it is already clear that the city government is not interested in cinemas. Some buildings were demolished, modern shopping and entertainment centers appeared in their place, and some were abandoned:

  • Avangard near the Domodedovo station;
  • "Volga", not far from the station "Petrovsko-Razumovskaya", after the closure of the night club completely abandoned;
  • Leningrad near the Sokol metro station is in danger of demolition.

Metro stations

Almost every metro in the world has so-called ghost stations, and the Moscow Metro is no exception.

According to travelers, one of the interesting abandoned buildings in the center of Moscow is the Escalator Gallery. Although the station itself operates - Vorobevy Gory, but earlier it had to have two exits. It was planned that the abandoned exit for today was supposed to lead straight up to the Sparrow Hills, but for some reason they did not finish the construction. Now this is the place where lovers of ruins and "technogenic ghosts" come.

Station "Volokamskaya" (1975) is quite visible between the stations "Schukinskaya" and "Tushinskaya", under the Tushino airport. If you look closely, you can see the purple walls of the hall. In Soviet times, there were plans to build the airport, but the public opposed, even opposed Gagarin. Now the station remained empty, but the microdistrict never appeared.

Holy places

There are many abandoned buildings in Moscow, where services have not been held for a long time and the church choir is not heard. But despite the dilapidated walls and crumbling plaster, they still attract people.

One of these places is located on the banks of the Reuta river in the village of Avdulovo, and this is the Church of the Protection of the Mother of God. This white-stone structure was erected in 1762.

In the village of Glukhovo there is also a beautiful building - the Tikhvin Church. It was built in 1778 and even restored in 1864, but in Soviet times the bell tower was destroyed, it was used for other purposes, and now it is completely abandoned.

In the village of Shumanovo, the ruins of a once majestic church building have also been preserved - the temple of Dmitry Solunsky (1805). Like most buildings of this purpose, the temple was badly damaged in Soviet times and was completely looted.

By the way, all these beautiful buildings are assigned to abandoned buildings in Moscow without protection, that is, you can safely come here without fear that someone will interfere, enjoy the local beauties or conduct a photo shoot. Judging by the reviews, such abandoned places really attract with their mystical energy, melancholy.

What can be done with abandoned buildings

Perhaps, few people know that since 2012, a program has been operating in the Russian capital that provides for the transfer of abandoned buildings in Moscow for preferential rent. At the same time, the official document promises that the lease term will be 49 years, and the cost of 1 square meter - 1 ruble. In fact, such a program allows the city to preserve the architectural objects of the city, and people find a place to live and engage in small business.

This is not to say that many took advantage of such a proposal by the authorities, but some families started a good business. For example, in 2013, in the Khlebny Lane, the Stepanov family rented a two-story dilapidated building and made repairs there. Now the family, with 4 children, lives on the 2nd floor, and on the first floor a children's educational center “Living House” has been opened. For children from nearby areas there is a place with circles and sections, educational courses and a creative workshop are held here. An anticafe is open for parents. So you can not only hold a photo shoot on the ruins or just look for artifacts, but also do a useful thing: do business and reanimate your beloved abandoned building in the capital.
