What is the scale of your personality? How does the magnitude of the problem determine it?

Large-scale personalities are somewhat similar to butterflies. Butterflies go all the way, from the stage of an egg to the conquest of the sky. Even more, these people look like a seagull named Jonathan Livingston from Richard Bach's book. Jonathan, instead of living like everyone else, caring only for food, set goals and earnestly β€œflew” to them. These goals were incredible - he wanted to master the flight to perfection.

Four levels of personality scale

As Sigmund Freud wrote: "The scale of your personality is determined by the magnitude of the problem, which is capable of getting you crazy." Is it so?

Four levels of personality scale can be distinguished:

  1. A person sees himself as something separate from the world, country, family. Typical egoists who literally do not think about anyone but themselves (their problems are related to the inability to get what they want for themselves).
  2. A person feels that he is part of his family and close circle, therefore he lives and works for them (problems: the child fell ill, was fired from work, etc.).
  3. A person considers himself a part of the country ... and every resident of the country is important for him (problems: low birth rate, low pensions, etc.).
  4. A person feels himself a part of the world, and each person is his neighbor (problems: war in the country, famine, tragedy).
add the last piece of the puzzle

It is important to note that it will be difficult to determine the scale of your personality by the magnitude of the problem, it is much more accurate to do this according to your goals and achieved results.

It is impossible to determine with just one word what scale your personality or the identity of the one in front of you is; it cannot be determined by imaginary ambitiousness, appearance or gender. A person can consider as his problem that which is not. Therefore, instead of determining the scale of your personality by the magnitude of the problem, it is extremely important to look at the real actions that are taking place and whether they bring it closer to the goal.

Beyond the visible

There is one problem, but there are many solutions. Suppose you have a problem: there are too many homeless and unemployed people in the village. One person, by his kindness, will help than he can - perhaps feed, perhaps lend money. And you, perhaps, will expand your β€œcan”, trying to change the system, laws, environment, politics, so that such people become fewer. Here, not the magnitude of your problem determines the scale of the personality, but rather, a holistic approach to it.

man looks through paper

Someone wants to buy a house, create a beautiful garden, raise good children, and someone thinks about how to deliver water to where it is not. Like the famous Rachel Beckwis, who at her early age created a charity page to raise money for water for the people of Africa. And in the end, instead of the $ 300 she was counting on, more than a million gathered.

That was the magnitude of her problem. She appropriated this problem and took responsibility to contribute to the solution. She considered herself part of the whole world and, by her actions, she called people close to herself African people.

Personality development

The scale of personality can be developed. To begin with, a person must have self-acceptance, because, spending his energy to humiliate himself, it is very difficult to move towards the goal. If you do not have a goal, then let the goal be to find it. It is also impossible to surrender to some goal, some way without an idea. Strong ideas.

man expands the world

If the scale of the personality is determined by the magnitude of the problem that is capable of getting you crazy, then I wonder what kind of person you have? Perhaps, without realizing it, people become isolated in their small world, not wanting to look at what is happening around. Thus, the world is losing potentially powerful leaders who could really make the world a better place.
