Edgaras Chesnauskis is a Lithuanian footballer whose last club was the Russian Rostov. He is 32 years old and is considering ending his career, but has not yet decided on this, especially considering the fact that his older brother Deividas is still playing at 35. Edgaras Chesnauskis acts on the position of the left midfielder, but can also move to the center and perform attacking functions.
Carier start
Edgaras Chesnauskis was born on February 5, 1984 in the Lithuanian SSR, in the city of Kursenai. He began his football career in the club of the same name with his older brother. However, then their paths diverged - Edgaras changed “Kursenai” to “Ekranas”, in which he was considered as a great talent. He made his debut there long before signing a professional contract in 2000, when he was only 16 years old. As a result, by the age of 18 he was already the main player of the club and for the three years spent in Ekranas, he entered the field 80 times, scoring 4 goals. In 2003, it became clear that Edgaras Chesnauskis had already outgrown his current club, and in the summer he moved to one of the strongest clubs of the former Soviet Union Dynamo Kiev.
The game for Dynamo
However, in the Kiev club Edgaras Chesnauskis, whose photographs could be seen on the pages of many sports magazines, could not take root. The first year he generally played exclusively for the double, first stepping on the field in a T-shirt of the main team only in the 2004/2005 season. Over the next year and a half, Edgaras played only five matches, which he was definitely not happy with. Therefore, in the winter of 2006, the Lithuanian midfielder was sold to the Russian Saturn.
Career in Russia

Edgaras Chesnauskis is a football player who built his career in Russia. He ended up in this country at the age of 22 as a young and promising player. For “Saturn” he played two and a half years, having entered the field 52 times and scoring 10 goals. After that, in the summer of 2008, the Lithuanian midfielder moved to FC Moscow, where he spent a year and a half. It was there that he showed his best side and reached the peak of his career, due to which he was noticed by the much larger Moscow club - Dynamo. After 42 matches and 7 goals for “Moscow” Chesnauskis for four million euros went to the “Dynamo”, but there he failed to gain a foothold. He spent only one year at the club, during which he appeared on the field 23 times and scored two goals. In the winter of 2011, Chesnauskis as a free agent moved to Rostov, with which he signed a contract for four years. Until 2013, the midfielder played at an excellent level. He became an important member of the team and played 58 matches, scoring two goals. But in 2013, everything changed - injuries and other problems prevented Edgaras from playing normally, therefore, until 2015, he never entered the field a single time. In the summer of 2015, his contract with the club expired, and since then Chesnauskis Jr. has never found a new club.
Team appearances
Edgaras Chesnauskis made his debut for the Lithuanian national team in July 2003 at the age of 19 as a young and promising talent who was to follow in the footsteps of his older brother. And in his debut match against the Estonian national team, Edgaras immediately scored a goal, although he only played one half. After that, he was often called to the national team and was able to play 45 matches for it, in which he scored six goals and gave three assists.
